Would you eat Christmas leftovers?

I still have leftover meat from Christmas Day, turkey and lamb. Would you still eat it today? I don’t want to waste it.

Yes.

Dacadactyl · 28/12/2022 19:00

Yes, of course.

triplechoc · 28/12/2022 19:00

Absolutely.

Clymene · 28/12/2022 19:01

Yes of course. I'm still eating it today and will be eating it tomorrow

BrightYellowDaffodil · 28/12/2022 19:01

Of course.

If I wasn’t going to eat it tomorrow I’d be putting it in the freezer so as not to waste food.

Notimeforaname · 28/12/2022 19:01

I dont eat meat but everyone I know is still eating theirs.

I'm still eating my quorn roast from sunday. 🤣

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 28/12/2022 19:01

Today would be the last day I would eat it.

3 days is my limit on cooked meat.

Scottishskifun · 28/12/2022 19:02

Rule is 3 days after cooking (as long as its been refrigerated) so tonight yes but don't reheat anything you make tomorrow.
You can always shred it and freeze tonight as well in smaller portions which is handy to grab for a stir fry or something

7Worfs · 28/12/2022 19:02

I’d eat it today but would look to freeze any leftover meat today/tomorrow latest.

Overthebow · 28/12/2022 19:02

Thank you! We will get through most of the remaining leftovers tonight so won’t eat it tomorrow.

Yes it would seem wasteful not to. I might make a turkey curry and freeze it though just so we don't have it so many days in a row

Workyticket · 28/12/2022 19:05

Yes! We've just had
-mashed potato and cauliflower cheese mashed up, rolled into balls and cooked in the air fryer
-beef in Christmas gravy
-stuffing

-trifle

All left over from Christmas - yum!

glittermoomoo · 28/12/2022 19:06

How have you stored it?

thisusernameisnotavailablepleasetryanother · 28/12/2022 19:07

If it's been kept refrigerated it will be absolutely fine to eat today. If not eaten by tomorrow afternoon then I'd throw it or chuck it out for the foxes (so still not wasted)

bengalcat · 28/12/2022 19:09

Yes we’re still ploughing through ours - with the help of the Labrador x

SinnerBoy · 28/12/2022 19:11

We often eat meat more than 3 days old. If it smells OK and isn't slimy, it's fine.

DW comes from a culture where meat is the main food, boiled. We often get a quarter of a mutton sheep and boil it, when we have guests.

It gets stripped off the bone and put in the fridge.

QuietYou · 28/12/2022 19:13

I'm eating delicious a leftover sandwich as I type this, so yes!

Cornelious · 28/12/2022 19:13

Yes. We're still eating ours and will make a curry tomorrow :-)

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 28/12/2022 19:14

Yes. We had beef & will freeze the rest tomorrow.

weathervane1 · 28/12/2022 19:15

Better to ask "why wouldn't you?"

... it's a no brained. Stew, curry, finely sliced with gravy to make a roast etc

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/12/2022 19:15

Yes although I usually get it all packaged up and in the freezer by Boxing Day.

mrshoho · 28/12/2022 19:16

Yes had turkey lasagna tonight. Still have a bit of ham left that will finish tomorrow.

dementedpixie · 28/12/2022 19:17

We will be having turkey and ham arrabiatta pasta tonight with leftovers

ClaretBarret · 28/12/2022 19:18

Of course?!

blondie87 · 28/12/2022 19:18

I made a curry today with left over cockerel. Could I freeze it today or is it time to chuck? Really trying to avoid for waste but also food poisoning too!
