Have you enjoyed slower sort of exercise as you got older?

I'm early fifties and whilst I've always loved the 'hard' sort of exercise - HITT, pounding the gym, boxing etc - my body doesn't seem to love it. I'm always stiff and sore, and it feels tough now. I've had 5 days off and I'm not at all sore!

I wonder if I need to take it a bit easier. accept that i don't need to take a pounding...

Just wondered if that was a natural stage, or whether I'm just being lazy!

I'm 55 and still love mainly cardio based exercise. That being said, 2 weeks off from playing netball 3 times a week, and my usual 2 combat classes have worked wonders on my dodgy knee😅

I'm 55 and do mostly weights, I'm a big swimmer normally but I find weights less strain on my joints.

fuck that for a line of soldiers.
Ok, actually of course most people down shift their activities as they age, but ideally only when they really need to.

I will keep going as strong & hard as I can until I actually don't enjoy it / can't keep up any more.

I am a little more cautious about cycling on ice now. Just don't like idea of breaking my arm (again).

I’m late 50’s, I run, do weights and box. I’m not slowing down yet

I am 56 and now do weights and swimming. Really enjoy both. I walk a lot too. I used to run but couldn't care less about giving it up. If I'm still doing both weights and swimming in 20 years I'll have done well.
