Cooked Turkey upside down by mistake

I didn't mean to do that. Stupid bird looks the same both sides. Just got it out and thought shit where's the breast meat.
Looked inside and could see it. Cooked for three hours upside down. Tell me it will be fine?
Think some people do it like that don't they?

I always cook mine upside down as do most chefs.

Dotcheck · 25/12/2022 12:48

It’ll be fine. Cook it right side up for a bit to crisp the top more

Mexicansky · 25/12/2022 12:48

Yes it's fine -might even be more moist with all the juices running to the bottom!

Cyclistmumgrandma · 25/12/2022 12:49

As long as it's cooked, it doesn't matter which way up it is!!

Northernlurker · 25/12/2022 12:49

Ok and breathe!

I am not a novice. What on earth I thought was doing.......

You'll have lovely juicy breast meat 😋
All is good.

SerenaTee · 25/12/2022 12:50

I always cook mine that way, makes the breast meat moist as the juices run down them!

Testina · 25/12/2022 12:51

I cooked a chicken upside down a few weeks ago 🤣
I had no idea.
Husband and I both grumbling at lack of meat. It was only in carrying it back to the kitchen to be able to messy-strip it that we realised.
Based on my experience - perfectly edible once flipped back over!

Paperdolly · 25/12/2022 12:52

Perfect! 😁

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 25/12/2022 14:33

I always do that, it's the best way!

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/12/2022 14:37

Yes, it doesn't dry out as much done upside down as what fat there is sinks down to the bit you want to eat!

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/12/2022 14:40

It’ll probably be better, the breasts will have got all the juices

TinyBagEnergy · 25/12/2022 14:44

"Stupid bird looks the same both sides" I'm howling, OP! 😂😂😂
I'm not having the best day but this has fair cheered me up, properly made me laugh!

bellabasset · 26/12/2022 09:33

Years ago my dm was told by a publican who'd trained as a chef to cook it upside down so the juices ran through, especially if you have a bigger bird

KangarooKenny · 26/12/2022 09:34

I always cook mine upside down, then flip it over to brown.
