I have COVID earlier this year, my symptoms were pretty mild (to the extent that I can't really remember what they were, I think I had a bit of a cough and tiredness for 2 weeks, but well enough to be able to work from home throughout).
I've never really suffered much with colds, I would get one 1-2 times a year and would get minor symptoms (blocked nose, headache). I never really suffered from coughs ever, and have never experienced a chesty or wheezy cough before.
However, since having COVID whenever I would cough there would be a high pitched wheeze to it. I've now had since two colds since COVID and both times they have gone straight to my chest. I had a cold in October where I had a day of normal cold symptoms followed by 6 weeks of coughing fits (initially wheezy and chesty, and then just a dry cough). I went to the GP and they listened to my chest and said it sounds clear, and it's just a stubborn virus. I finally got rid of that cough and put it down to a particularly nasty virus, but I've now got my second cold and again I had a day of 'normal' cold symptoms (blocked nose, headache) and now I have just an awful cough.
Has anyone experienced similar? Will it go away or is it possible COVID has permenantly damaged my lungs? Should I go to the GP about it (non-urgent appt, just a routine appt) as I'm concerned I could have developed asthma?
