AIBU to go to Turkey in April?

Hi All,

AIBU to go to Turkey in April? Will the weather just be on the cooler side?

I work at a school and I therefore, have to go during school holidays. Was thinking to go during the Easter holidays but I'm not sure if going in April is a good idea?

Can anyone share their experiences of Turkey in April?

Thanks

Warm days, cool evenings, maybe a bit of rain.
Might be warm enough for swimming.
Turkey in April is beautiful. It will be out of seaon but if you go to an area which is a working town, there will still stuff open. Fethiye, Antalya (near the Old Town).

I've been in early May and the weather was glorious
TBH summer in Turkey too hot for me, have also been in August, much prefer their spring.

Personally, I would much prefer to go in April or May than later during the summer when I find it too hot. I went to Marmaris at the beginning of May a few years ago and the weather was beautiful. And it was quieter!

How about going all inclusive. Is there any point? Is the food nice?

Hate all inclusive - I haven't done it in Turkey, but I enjoy finding nice places to eat in the evening - I don't go to bars or clubs, so eating out is a focal point of the evening.
I can see the attraction if you have children though.

Weather-wise it'll be cardigans until 10am, then shorts and t-shirts until 5pm. You might be able to do the odd outdoor swim, but it won't be terribly pleasant, and it won't really be "sun bathing warm" either.

We went all inclusive and it was fantastic. You have to be very choosy about the hotel but if you are you should be fine. We still ate out at different restaurants a lot of the time too because Turkey is very cheap.

Turkish food is gorgeous. It heats up progressively, so late april will be more reliably nice than early April.

Have you considered Hurghada instead? Will be warmer than turkey and no threat of rain. I’m off there middle of March.

Friends went last April and had a wonderful time weather wise

Only issue is pick the hotel wisely . As the season hadn't started the all inclusive they picked was really rubbish on food quality as not many guests so would suggest a area with lots of options

The pools won't be warm enough though

We did AI in Turkey in April and was fab. Weather warm during the day but cold in the evenings.

lndnbrdge91 · 22/12/2022 14:09

We went in April and higher than average temperatures. We stayed at Paloma Perissia which is an AI near Side. It helped that it was our first post covid holiday, but the hotel was great and food, drinks etc were of an excellent standard for all inclusive. I understand they have a chain of hotels in that area.

However, if the weather is not good then it's a risk; as probably not a great deal to do there. I would second recommendations for Egypt as you are less likely to risk the cold!
