LGBT dating sites and apps

Sorry for using aibu but need the traffic. I’m divorced (I was married to a man) and have been on my own for over a year now. I’m painfully lonely. I’ve always known since I was a teenager that I am bisexual, and I now feel less bi and more lesbian. I don’t feel attracted to men at all anymore, which to be honest is more down to past trauma than it is my sexuality. I would really like to meet or chat with women. I have 2 young children. I tried one dating app but that was a disaster, it was supposed to be for lesbians but was full of weird men pretending to be women with obvious fake photos etc. so I shut it down. Are there any good dating websites or apps for women looking to meet other women? Also any tips about using these sites and not being catfished or meeting a murderer?! I’m clueless about online dating but I have no idea how else I’ll ever meet someone likeminded? I’m in the UK.

I’m not surprised the way the men are off today

Anything ‘LGBT’ is going to be full of blokes identifying as lesbians. I think the only app where you’ll just get biological women is Giggle, made by Sall Grover.

Super helpful responses so far... I met my wife on Her and it was very good. Free at the time I used it six or seven years ago but I think you have to pay a bit now.

Tinder is helpful as a bisexual as it allows both sexes where as most try and show you one

Her is another good one
Bumble
Plenty of fish also worked for me

Hinge too

Where in the UK are you OP? If you're lucky enough to be near a city with a decent LGB scene (London/ Brighton/ Manchester spring to mind!) try looking on places like MeetUp for gay/ bi women-only events. Although aimed at making friends rather than dating it puts you in the right places & meeting people that might become future dates.

If you're outdoorsy there are also some women walking and adventure groups, (whilst not exclusively gay) they're very friendly & have a higher than average number of gay women.

HER is a good one. You’ll always get some people being arseholes on apps.
MeetUp in your local area is also good for social stuff.

The "Her" app is full of blokes pretending to be women, I'd give that a swerve.

I know quite a few couples who met recently via Her - so I would give it a go and judge for yourself.

There really aren’t as many men pretending to be lesbians as seems to be made out here! Unless it’s a anti- trans thing. You will find some trans women on dating apps obvs.

Valeriekat · 27/12/2022 18:51

ONE is too many.

Readabookgroucho · 27/12/2022 20:15

‘ONE is too many.’

men lying in dating apps is too many, but it’s happens. There’s a lot less men on HER because it’s aimed at women looking for women so is full of women.
blokes tend to focus on being on arseholes and catfishing on the other OLD according to my single lesbian friends.

I've met some nice women on Her and my close friend is now in a committed relationship through it. There are always going to be odd balls you just have to learn to weed them out quickly.
Also try The Pink Sofa, I've enjoyed that and met partners in the past.
