To block my child’s father from contacting me

Seperated 5 years after I found out he was cheating, 7 year old child. We are mainly amicable and share DS on a week on week off basis.
Recently I’ve found him to be more and more confrontational to me and it hit boiling point last week he he shouted and swore at me in the school playground after DS nativity, I was absolutely mortified.
I blocked him on messenger (how we usually communicate, he then continued to send me abusive messages by WhatsApp so blocked him on there and then via text so I blocked him there too.

What’s the solution?! I’ve told him he can speak to my DH if he needs to but there must be a way to move forwards from this, I actually feel anxious about having to see or speak to him again.

Call the Police? Or at least threaten to if he continues.

Be very clear communication is about your child and nothing else will be tolerated.

Keep all the messages as evidence if required.

My DH is actually a police officer and when I told my ex to stop contacting me as it was bordering on harassment he laughed and said “what you going to send DH to fight your battles for you and arrest me”
I just don’t know how it’s got to this 😥

Apply for a NMO?

Tell him you will only contact him by email and if he contacts you any other way then he's harassing you.

Make sure you are never alone with him and if he shouts or screams at you in a public place inform the police.

Keep your DH out of it as much as possible because if your ex is stupid enough to target your DH, that will prove he's harassing you and others in your household.

As far as I am aware, you have no obligation to be communicating with your ex. For the hand-overs of the children, it doesn't have to be done by you, it can be anyone..
