Hi

I am wallowing in self pity. I feel unwell and have a very sore throat at one side. So much so it's hurts to move my neck, yawn or cough and if I sleep on a certain side I feel like I can't breathe. I'm taking pain relief every few hours but it isn't really helping except maybe for the first hour.

I have to go to work because if I don't, I don't get paid and I cannot afford time off. I just want to cry.

I am usually a shut up and crack on type.

Sorry for whinging ☹️

Quinsy is very painful. Glad you’re starting to feel better now. 💐

I remember having such a sore throat that I couldn’t even swallow my own spit. I was spitting into tissues.
Its miserable, I know, but it will pass 💐

I was doing this when I had strep A. This is nearly 50 years ago. I suspect the OP has probably got that.

Bless you. You take care of yourself x

I just read the thread and came on to say it sounds like a quinsey then saw your update! I had this when I was a teenager and ended up hospitalised, it can be dangerous untreated. If people have similar symptoms in future please get medical assistance urgently! Mine came about because my mum got me treated homeopathically for tonsillitis Hmm

@maltesersarethedevil Keep gargling with salt water. Like a pp I was hospitalised with Quinsy but unlike them I was taking antibiotics for tonsillitis.

While in hospital they got me to gargle salt water. It removes bacteria. And Quinsy is a cyst on your tonsil.

Copy and paste from NHS:

gargle with warm salty water (children should not try this)

How to gargle with salty water
Mix half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and stir until it has dissolved.
Gargle with the salty water (do not swallow it), then spit it out.
Repeat as often as you like.
Young children should not gargle with salty water.
