Training in tech at 43 - when already in tech

I have worked in tech all my career (20 years) but in an adjunct role - similar to UX design but not quite as central. I am good at my job and am currently employed by one of the biggest names in IT in a managerial role. I make around 75K including bonus and benefits. While that is a very good salary, it is unlikely I will ever make much more if I stay in my role. Senior roles in my field are rare and managerial ones rarer.

I have done coding classes in my youth but my degrees are in liberal arts subjects. I did one of the Code First Girls introductory courses and quickly realised that despite not being a programmer, I know too much about code to be the right audience for the course.

I was wondering what the experienced ladies of tech think. Should I stay in my role or attempt to retrain? I know it would mean a 50% drop in income to start with but there are more jobs and higher salaries available to the engineers. If I retrained how quickly could I hope to get back to and beyond my current salary? What courses would be good to do? My company gives me access to pretty much any tech course on LinkedIn Learning amongst other things.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts
