To think the Cormoran Strike/Robin chemistry doesn't come across in the TV show?

For instance the buying perfume scene. In the book I was desperate for them to get together but watching it on TV I wasn't feeling it.

The audiobooks are good & RG does a cracking job of reading them. I'm a fan.
Not likely to watch the serieses though.

YANBU. Love the leads, love the books, but the leads (for me) don't generate the same chemistry (a shame because they are both extremely good-looking and talented).

I really struggle with audiobooks. I like listening to the audiobook of books I’m really familiar with/know well and have read multiple times but if it’s a book I haven’t read I feel I can’t follow it on audio. Like I zone out constantly and can’t keep up. I don’t know why because I read all the time, just when I’m listening to it I can’t keep it together.

But if the audio book is really good I would consider it though. Maybe I’ll finally get past the first 40 pages!

Some of the TV shows are very rushed. I don’t think the writing style translates well to TV, a lot of the story telling element which it JKR strong point is lost.

As a massive fan of the books and very tiny detail, and a giant pedant by nature, I’m enjoying tv TB a lot more than I thought I would! It’s just a different beast, and there are lovely extra bits I thought, mostly courtesy of the actors.

Both fantastic actors but it was soooo DULL. I’ve never read the books and so wanted a good thriller to get into. They mumble at each other with dead pan lines and absolutely no character whatsoever.

the audiobooks are great - ah the mileage! And you can listen 3 or 4 times (ahem) and different stuff will jump out each time

The series is a disappointment

Strike is just not doing much He seems really dull. Robin is better but agree the chemistry seems lost in this one.

And it's gutting as I really fancied him
In the previous series and also in war and peace so I know he can turn on the chemistry.

I don't think it does in the books either tbh. I love JKR and I've e tried to like the books, I really have, but I just don't think they're very good.

Just watched it to the end and have to disagree, I love the perfume scene! they are sooo cute romantic and i wished theyd kissed, its brilliant, I love how close they are and why they cant get together, its very mulder and scully. I think its brilliantly cast and the chemistry is there, only thing is it was too quick thats true!

I think there is zero chemistry between them in the books too; I enjoy the plots but find all the will they/ won't they parts so tedious.

God, I think he’s gorgeous, and they have great chemistry!
