We’re about to start watching Band of Brothers. For some unknown reason this has become a yearly tradition at this time of year.

Although it is a fantastic series (still ranks #4 in the top 250 tv shows on IMDb despite being over 20 years old) it’s not exactly a cheery programme.

does anyone else have any weird traditions for this time of year to make me feel a bit less weird?

I thought of another one - the dog and cats buy the dc a gift. It has to be dog or cat themed, deliberately badly wrapped with some animal fur stuck to the sellotape, and I swear blind that they bought and wrapped it independently.

Not weird, but every Christmas Eve, my sister and mum come round to watch the Muppets Christmas Carol, it's the last thing I watch before going to bed. And every Christmas morning, after we've done the whole present opening event, I go upstairs to wrap other family members presents that we'll be seeing later, and always have a Tom Hanks film on in the background 😂😂 happend two years on the trot with Splash on normal TV, now I just stick one on the firestick if there's not one on TV 😂😂

We have. A few but not too weird.
Drink Irish coffees made with baileys.
Watch love actually
Do Christmas cleaning
Have Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and have a Buffett on Christmas Day.

Danish licorice is opened on Christmas Eve.
Always watch a ghost story of some kind on Christmas Eve.
I follow the #clergymaltclub on Twitter after midnight- I'm not even slightly religious, but it's so lovely to watch in real time as the priests and vicars come in from midnight Mass and enjoy a drink.
