For me it’s smellies! Even Baylis and Harding makes me happy (I know on MN gifting B&H is the equivalent of punching someone in the face). Anything I can pour in a bath, or use to take 13 layers of skin off my body is a great gift.

OP posts:
BlackKittyMama · 10/12/2022 23:31

Fluffy socks all day long! But also candles and alcohol

Socks! I love getting socks as I tend to use all mine on the dog’s nose when she needs to find me

I’m intrigued Grin

zombielady · 10/12/2022 23:47

Socks

RelaxedPigeon · 10/12/2022 23:48

Bath/shower smellies. Love them! That is not a shit gift for me. Bottle of bubble bath is my perfect gift.

AutumnTreacle · 10/12/2022 23:51

I love PJs, candles/wax melts, stationary, body creams, nail sets and all that other stuff Boots sell and stick in different packaging year after year. πŸ˜… It’s all stuff I forget to buy but when I get them as gifts I absolutely use!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 10/12/2022 23:57

I love all of the above - I think I’m the easiest person to shop for as I just love smellies, chocolates, fluffy socks, I also love the niche novelty gifts that are so hated on mn. I genuinely can’t think of a gift I’ve received that I haven’t been pleased with - and I’m a primary school teacher!

Book tokens definitely.
Lovely notebooks and stationery (I keep a diary in a moomins notebook).
Dd regifted me some perfume recently. It's an expensive one I wouldn't buy for myself but she no longer wanted it so that s good too.

MintJulia · 11/12/2022 00:07

I'm the opposite OP. I like practical presents. I find smellies and candles just boring and pointless.

If I'm given very expensive ones, I regift them to someone who will appreciate them. If less expensive, they go to the food bank.

Thankfully my loved ones know me, so it seldom happens.

MorrisZapp · 11/12/2022 00:11

Any kind of sweets or chocolate. Sure, I can buy sweets myself, but the point of a food treat gift is that you eat it entirely free from guilt.

It isn't the chocolate you're giving me, it's permission to eat it.

Daffodilsandtuplips · 11/12/2022 00:12

I love shower and hair products, slippers, pyjamas, garden centre vouchers, jumpers, chocolates. Nice candles, diffusers.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 11/12/2022 00:46

A mug. Love a good mug.

A mug. Love a good mug.

Ohhh me too!!

Beachbodyready · 11/12/2022 01:54

Stamps and batteries. Always useful to have in the house

blueberrymuffin88 · 11/12/2022 02:04

I will repeat what many have said here, candles, socks, pjs, hand cream, bodyshop stuff. Such a cliche but I can't be bothered to go shopping for that kind of stuff but I love it. My husband is always so weirdly flumuxed when it come to picking me a Xmas present. I feel like women are so easy to shop for as I seem to like small, simple pleasures but he seems to want the world πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Kissmybaubles · 11/12/2022 02:07

Pyjamas, socks, smellies … love them … I’m easy to please lol

icegoose · 11/12/2022 02:08

Socks, candles, pens, wine and chocolates. Also tea and coffee.

Mummieslncorporated · 11/12/2022 03:13

Socks
Kitchen stuff

MistletoeandBaileys · 11/12/2022 04:02

Last year we moved into our new home that has a bath and my favourite gift from my husband was a big selection of bath bombs and bubble baths!! I hadn’t thought of asking for them he just new I’d love it!

I also love fluffy socks, pyjamas, candles, a terrys chocolate orange and slippers! I’m pregnant this year so I don’t think he’s going to buy the pyjamas.

Last year all he wanted was a really nice luxurious cosy dressing gown. I have to say it’s still like brand new and he loves it!

ShinyMe · 11/12/2022 06:40

The best present I ever got was a giant GIANT jar of pickled eggs my mum made for me. It was like 3 dozen. They lasted to Easter, it was amazing.

HelloBunny · 11/12/2022 06:45

My mum always gets me socks & knickers. I like getting chocolate, too!

quinceh · 11/12/2022 06:46

Another vote for vouchers. I love going out to spend them and will always think of what I buy as a gift from that person.

UseOfWeapons · 11/12/2022 07:09

Bed socks! Shower gel! All practical stuff, pyjamas, chocolate, I’m easy to buy for. I do prefer things I can use. I also love sheets and pillowcases, as they tend to be things that go to the bottom of my shopping list.

IamChipmunk · 11/12/2022 07:30

@CantFindTheBeat it was in Aldi!! Was really nice, it was in the middle aisle (obviously πŸ˜‚)
They had a few different smells but that was the nicest! It was just a small one with the name on the front and decorated with mince pie print!

Ive currently got their Xmas tree one on the go (white glass with a silver star on) and its really nice, really strong and so Xmasey!
Ill get the mince pie one if its still there when im back in next Fri!

Plingston · 11/12/2022 08:13

Bayliss and Harding soap. I think it smells nice.

Big standard tubs of chocolate like heroes, celebrations, roses etc.

Household gadgets and practical items. Love them.

SpongeBob2022 · 11/12/2022 08:19

Socks. Also any sort of practical gift such as kitchen equipment or storage containers. I would much prefer this over anything like candles, smellies etc.
