Ok. I'm posting for traffic, but it's worth it. There's a short series BBC podcast about Abraham Badru who as a 14/15 year old witnessed a 14 year girl being gang raped. He stepped in and saved her.
As if that wasn't enough, he then ended up testifying in open court against the multiple rapists, who were all part of a gang.
His mother is an absolute and total force of nature. We've just this week heard the relief of Charlotte Charles, Harry Dunn's mother, at the prosecution of her son's killer.
Ronke Badru first spent years trying to protect her son and then has had to spend years trying to get justice for his murder - just outside her front door - in 2018. He was 26.
The podcast is very well done, sensitive, real, and not sensational.
This is the story the British press should be talking about this week, if it wants to focus on people who are hard done by, needed to flee their home (but couldn't), have felt the ramifications of lack of police protection and probably institutional racism. And there is nobody seeking sympathy. They just want answers.
The link is below. If it's not working, the podcast is on BBC sounds and is called Please Protect Abraham. Oh and I have zero to do with the podcast or anybody in it. I'm posting because really, this should be heard. Nothing can possibly change if it's hidden in the archives.
