Is this a Christmas gift that will just get unused?

I am thinking about getting a Neck Massager, Back Massager with Heat, Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager, Shoulder Massager for Christmas.

My husband thinks this is just a Christmas gift that will just get unused.

I think it looks great

Who is right?

Plus I need to know which brand to go for.

Does anyone have good or bad experience of
VIKTOR JURGEN, or Deestop, or Essy, or iKristin or RENPHO please?

They are all about the same price, Habe good reviews, and I'd like to know what is good!

Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

I've got one and I use it often!

My sister had a Homedics electric stretch mat and we all used it and it’s currently being used by a friend with a riding injury - maybe look at one of those , although there is no heat involved in the one we have .

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 10/12/2022 16:13

I don't think I would use it.

Rockingcloggs · 10/12/2022 16:19

Well, I bought myself one of those things that attaches to your chair and I use it every single day. I have it attached to my chair at work!

every few months I wake up with a painful neck. On those days and for the following 72 ish hours it gets loads of use and is really valuable. Then it goes back in the cupboard for next time.

im hoping for a foot one this year for my planter fasciitis.

fancyacuppatea · 10/12/2022 16:22

I wasted money on one...binned after one use.

Theraffarian · 10/12/2022 17:02

I’ve got one and gifted them to all the family a couple of years back . Not sure how much they get used , I tend to forget mine until I’ve had a really heavy day gardening and am complaining that I can’t move and then out it comes . I’ve actually got two a neck one and a more solid back one and definitely prefer the back one .

Vanillalime · 10/12/2022 17:28

I bought one as a gift a few years back from Amazon. It was used quite frequently at the time by the recipient and various members of family. Can’t find the exact one but was similar in cost & style to this:

Will absolutely end up in the cupboard under the stairs with the foot spa!

Ilovemybed2022 · 10/12/2022 22:46

I’d go for a hitachi wand. That’s supposed to really hit the spot, and make you feel much better

hiyaqwerty · 10/12/2022 22:47

I got one, used it couple of times. Thennever used it again

justasking111 · 10/12/2022 22:52

I use my OH more than he does. I copy the movement my chiropractor uses it does help.

Italiangreyhound · 11/12/2022 11:42

I think the Hitachi wand is a sex toy! I'm not looking for one of them....yet!

Italiangreyhound · 11/12/2022 11:43

Oh I see it has other uses!

CheeseIsMyPatronus · 11/12/2022 11:44

It would end up in a cupboard with the foot spa, bread maker and pasta machine

This one
I had a full seat one but it broke :(

FinallyHere · 11/12/2022 13:30

I'd recommend getting one that runs off the mains rather than battery operated.

Great for massage and ... , too.

Mischance · 11/12/2022 13:35

Christmas is full of these non-gifts. I would steer clear of it, unless the recipient has plenty of drawers to store it in!

Italiangreyhound · 11/12/2022 13:40

Thank you badbaduncle.

Just to clarify. I am the potential recipient.

Will either be dumped in a cupboard or taken straight to a charity shop!

Testng123 · 11/12/2022 13:46

100% a gift you’ll use twice and then leave in a wardrobe for the next 7 years

That's what happened to mine

zingally · 11/12/2022 14:27

I have one! I couldn't tell you the brand, but it was from Amazon and was whatever the top rated one is. Cost me about £30 I think.

I have a painful knot in my left shoulder blade that flares up every now and then, and this really helps. You can get it positioned just where you need it, and its great.
