Why the fuck is my DP taking SO long with this job?!

Just need to vent. DP does this often. He's a "faffer". Jobs that would me 10 mins, take him 20 or 30... and so on.

He has nipped to the butchers (2 miles away - 5 min drive tops), and is also going to the co op right next door to the butchers for a few veg items (literally carrots, potatoes and peas).

So far he has been gone almost 50 minutes. I mean..... really?! Am I being unreasonable/ inpatient?! Or is this just ridiculous? 🤷‍♀️

Prob looking at the football scores or betting apps in the car 🤣

I'm the faffer, I'll often pop out and disappear for hrs have a mooch around.
Dp must have a mental stopwatch. He always completes any task on time in the time he's allotted. Work, cooking, travel. He's always on time for his customers.

My DH is a faffer and it makes want to kill. Just this morning he said that we needed to leave to be somewhere ASAP then starts on some completely non essential tasks.

Think it's just men, my partner is the same

My DH is like this, drives me mad.

He also gets an idea for a completely random unnessacery job into his head (like wheres the duct tape? which he doesn't even need at 10pm at night) and it MUST be done there and then at everyone inconvience as he gets stressed and starts yelling that no one is helping with the completely unnessacery task and saying things like 'well don't be mad at me when you need it and can't find it'.

I suppose we both have faults though, Im the kind that will just throw the kids in the car, grab a bag and go then think 'feck I forgot the wetwipes' where as DH will faff for 2 hours packing everything and the kitchen sink and 99% of it will never be used but he did likely remember the wetwipes.

My view though is as long as I have keys, cards and ID I could buy pretty much any emergancy item I forgot while out (usually its things that cost no more than £2) where as those hours of faffing are a life wasted.

Ironically he gets impatient when anyone else is shopping or doing a job and constantly tries to rush us along.
