Can you actually be comfortable in stilettos ?

I absolutely love stilettos / heels. I think they look so elegant. I have a few pairs myself, but it just hurts so much. Even after a short time of wearing them, I am in absolute agony.

I've tried gel pads and that kind of stuff, but I can't make it work. It ruins any occasion I wear them.

Does anyone have any tips ? Or is it excruciating for everyone ?

Wear shoes you can walk in. It’s bloody ridiculous that women are still wearing shoes they can hardly stand or walk or dance in.
what’s the point!?
Can you imagine men doing this??

I'm less than 5ft. I wear heels to every party/wedding/social occassion, (I don't wear them day-to-day) and persist with wearing them all night long, no matter how uncomfortable as its my rare chance to feel a border-line normal height!! And possibly even have eye level conversations with a few short people
But the last wedding I went to, I walked over a mile home in bare feet!

I have a pair that are relatively comfy (I can walk in them for hours). As a pp mentioned, they're designed for dancers. Also have good supportive straps.

Other heels much less so. Some I used to wear in the office as they were pretty and I didn't have to stand up much! Mostly wear flats now.

Never found a comfy pair of slip-on heels.

M and S do the comfiest ones ever. Proper high, glam and pointy and yet completely comfortable. £29.50 iirc

Seconded. I've got them in silver and black and they are the most bearable heels I've ever worn. Not that I wear them often, only for funerals, weddings and posh dos. Some outfits really do need a heel. At least on me, anyway.
I have known a few women older than me who cannot wear flats at all, even needing heeled slippers, because of wearing stilettos almost daily through their lives.

I used to wear them all the time, I think that your feet get used to it, bit once it had a period in flats I haven't gone back as they are too painful and I may be developing arthritis (take after my mum)

Much prefer flats or low heel, so much better imo
