Dd, 4 wants to wear her long Elsa dress to Pre-school tomorrow, it’s a Pre school joined to the school she will merge into. Is it weird or ok to go in on it? She’d wear with tights and boots, she normally just wears leggings, jeans, sweater dresses etc..I mean, are they allowed 🤷🏻‍♀️She’s desperate to and won’t ‘Let it go’ 🙄soz…

Also, dd is nearly 9 now and that Jessie phase is a lovely memory. Let her wear her dress and take a photo of her going to nursery in it.

Our nursery specifically asked that they don’t wear dresses like that unless on special days. As others have said - they aren’t really practical for running around/painting/toileting. I only send the kids in things I don’t mind being trashed - as someone else said, would she be upset if it got paint on?

Some of you cannot think for yourselves.

So true! Not sure how parents have got so far if they can't make informed decisions by themselves!

You literally can't make an 'informed' decision by yourself. To be informed, you need information from outside sources. Like MN.

PleaseTakeItOff · 07/12/2022 19:41

@Namora OP has the information she needs to make the decision. We only have the bits of that information she chooses to share with us. I’m sorry but if you genuinely do not feel capable of making an everyday decision about how to parent your child without seeking external advice I think it’s indicative of some bigger problems.

Elsa dresses are my daughters nursery uniform, hopefully she won't be too upset with school uniform after summer! There is another little boy in her class who dresses as spider man every day. I think it's sweet. I just layer with leggings and long sleeved tops this time of year 😊

Don't be stupid.

  1. She doesn't have all the information, she's asking for what is generally socially acceptable.
  2. What the fuck does it have to do with you anyway? Do you actively get your kicks sneering at someone asking for outside opinions in a new situation? You know nothing about the OP. They could be neurodiverse, from another country, raised in care and outside the education system with no family support so are just muddling through, dealing with illness or bereavement and completely overwhelmed by unexpected decision making, even if it is fairly minor.
  3. There is a variety of answers here so it's not like there was one obvious path for the OP to take.

I don't know what happened to my 3, it was meant to be in between 'situation' and 'you'.

Some people just like a chat!

Bloody hell, there would be no need for internet forums otherwise.

Oh let her wear it. When my dd was in Nursery there was a little lad that dressed as Bob the Builder everyday. Except for Animal dress up day when he came as Bob the Builder carrying a plastic bag with a Lion Costume in.

This is brilliant
