No heating or hot water 1 week later

I’m a social housing tenant, had no heating or hot water for a week, supposedly being fixed today but no call.

Ive spent a week pretty much trying to contact anyone and have complained through every channel possible.

My house is Baltic and worse weather expected tomorrow.

I can no longer stay here with my child, the housing association have noted that I’m vulnerable.

woukd it be unreasonable for me to book into a hotel and get the housing association to pay?.

Hi do you have a child? If they're aged 5 or under then they have to legally help you on the day it goes out.

I agree you shouldn't be left in a freezing house regardless and I absolutely would go to a hotel. As long as the tradesperson can get in? I would forewarn the HA first though

Well they won’t pay, no family to stay with? Friends?

Don't you have any electricity to use portable heaters? Do you have the ability to boil water for a strip wash & hair wash over sink?

We have been without a bath or shower for 2 weeks while bathroom was being completely refurbished, and without CH or hot water for longer when boiler packed up and we were arranging a new one.

We own our home. Fixes take time whether rented or owned.

How are you going to get HA to pay a hotel bill?

Haven't they supplied portable heaters? Yes, more expensive to run but cheaper than a hotel.

I'd get the ok that they'll pay before checking in anywhere.
