Modern manners

Today I was travelling through a major train station with my elder brother who was feeling unwell. We’d secured some seats in a busy area and he went to buy tea,. A family came to sit alongside and I very
politely pointed out that the seat next to me was taken ( which was obvious as a bag was resting against it.) The mum then roundly and loudly abused me saying that who was I to stop her from feeding her baby and called me a bitch. I was astonished at the immediate escalation. It was really hostile and I honestly felt quite frightened. The rest of her family ignored it.

Modern manners? 🤨
You came across trash, there’s always been trash.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but I don’t think it’s of an age.

Thanks, I was just quite shaken to be honest as I’m very quiet and wouldn’t dream of deliberately inconveniencing anyone deliberately.

YANBU. I've have to order via the franchise's app to secure my table, as long as the franchise had its own app. The same goes with pubs.

Did she have a baby? If so do you not think its a bit rude of you not to let her sit down. Only one of you was unwell so surely the well one could have stood

What about the family who were with the woman, could not one of them have stood? Surely it's a bit rude of them not to let her sit down?

She sounds horrible OP, but fortunately most people are not as lacking in manners.
