Posting here for traffic. Friend has just had a baby boy and I'm trying to find a gift for him. Any ideas for a third son?

A new baby outfit.

Waterfallgirl · 04/12/2022 21:35

I’d get a new lovely baby blanket - it will be ‘his’ blanket rather than the ones his brothers had.

I actually appreciated some new clothes for my DS3. The necklines on a lot of the clothes worn by DS1&3 had yellowed. Similar with muslins, bibs etc. also I had my baby boys within 5 years of each other but the style of clothes had changed quite a lot in that time.

Hedgehogsaremything · 04/12/2022 21:37

Or something for his room with his name on it. Like a framed pic.

KindergartenKop · 04/12/2022 21:39

A lovely board book. Like Peepo.

Wheresmysewjo · 04/12/2022 21:39

For my third girl I really appreciated a new outfit rather than hand-me-down.

A personalised blanket x

Interesting, I was thinking something other than a new outfit but you lovely ladies think otherwise. Any particular brand? Budget is £30-40ish.

No more blankets. The house will most likely be flooded with blankets from the other babies because people think babies need 20 blankets each. A lovely new outfit 3+ months would be much appreciated, I'm sure.

Any idea what brands your friend normally dresses her kids in? For my third child, second dd I had loads of clothes from her sister. I preferred a gift card for either a clothing shop so I could buy stuff like vests when she needed them or an amazon voucher so I could get her some sensory toys and books when she could make us of them.

NoDairyNoProblem · 04/12/2022 21:51

For me a new outfit is always welcome, I like Mayoral for that sort of budget.

CentralHeating · 04/12/2022 21:54

They don't live in the same country so would rather buy them something than give them a voucher. A friend suggested a bathrobe, anyone wants a bathrobe for their newborn/3m+?

A bathrobe is a picture prop at that age.

KindergartenKop · 04/12/2022 22:13

A hooded towel serves a similar purpose to the bathrobe but is more useful. Don't get one with weird poppers etc though.

wouldthatbeworse · 04/12/2022 22:29

Lift the flap books rarely last 2 children. Agree bathrobe not great. White company or John Lewis for baby clothes

HappyMarriage · 04/12/2022 22:33

Some nice muslins, in my experience muslins start to look pretty sad and gross by the third child. Fox in the Attic has some stunning ones.

NoelNoNoel · 04/12/2022 22:33

I loved it when my third son received little outfits as the amount of baby clothes you are given as presents greatly reduced with each DC.

Palmtree9 · 04/12/2022 22:42

A soft hooded towel, a print of their name/dob/weight/picture, New sleepsuit

Mince314s · 04/12/2022 22:49

I know a few that have had the dinosaur little brother sleep suit in next. It's lovely colours rather than just yet more blue. If they're both in a different season is go for the appropriate sleeping bag or coat too. Lift the flap booked are another one that won't survive 2 boys.

We have our doubts about this so it has been deleted by MNHQ while we take a look behind the scenes.
