Is a Shewee a suitable present?

For secret Santa? For your manager?

She has a good sense of humour (and I hope would find it practical) but we are in a male dominated office so I don’t know.

Would you be happy to receive a Shewee?

@DahliaMacNamara I don't know I guess he thought it was funny 🤔

ichundich · 29/11/2022 23:07

Is this a serious question?

Yes. It’s in my Amazon basket but I hesitated to click buy. I think she’d find it hilarious but I guess the work situation made me second guess.

Not appropriate.

There is a big difference between your manager having a sense of humour, and a female being given a toileting accessory as a present - which she potentially has to open in front of other people - and people who happen to be ‘male dominated’. Imagine the jokes - does she wet herself, she wants to pee standing up like a bloke etc.

Despite her good grace and humour, I’m sure she’s had to work very hard to overcome the environment. As another female (I presume) she deserves more respect than a 60 second awkward laugh will get from giving this present.

negomi90 · 29/11/2022 23:14

No. Get her novelty socks. Don't be controversial.

Only if she is very into hiking

I’ve got one for this very reason. Despite my above post I’m very easy going and like a giggle. I would not find it funny to open this in front of work colleagues and be asked to demonstrate how it works.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 29/11/2022 23:16

Jesus Christ
Just no
On so many levels

NelFun · 29/11/2022 23:18

I view Shewees as a symbol
of female empowerment and we often talk about feminism. My worry would be that she thinks it’s from one of the men (only a couple if which might be ‘blokey’ about it).

The budget is £5 and you can’t get much more than tat for that money. I wanted to get something actually useful. I will keep looking.

HelloBunny · 29/11/2022 23:21

Seems funny to you (and maybe her) but the men in the office may not understand what it actually is... And think it’s Tampax / Tena Lady / Ann Summers related. Embarrassing!

Mamai90 · 29/11/2022 23:44

Personally I wouldn't be embarrassed but I wouldn't find it practical as I tried one when I was pregnant and desperate but I couldn't switch off to pee out in the open (even though I was behind a bush).

MoreSleepPleasee · 29/11/2022 23:46

No

Champagneforeveryone · 29/11/2022 23:47

I mean, I'm slightly more agog at the poster who advocates buying one for your mother but no, absolutely not.

The only except would be if she's into outdoor pursuits, and has outwardly vocalised that she would love to be gifted a pissing tube by an unknown colleague. If this is the case then crack on.

FWIW, I had one and have rarely been more disappointed in an item. I think there's a definite level where the toilets would be so grim that I would resort to one, but I've been unlikely to go anywhere that grim since my early 20's.

Come back when you have an elderly, disabled, incontinent mother who still enjoys walks in the countryside and therefore needs a portable urinal and maybe you won’t be so agog.

poefaced · 29/11/2022 23:00

Erm, no.

It's something you buy for your mum, not your manager.

Please don't buy your Mum one!

Thepeopleversuswork · 29/11/2022 23:59

ooh no.

Get her a hand held torch or a head torch!

Changechangychange · 30/11/2022 00:03

I view Shewees as a symbol
of female empowerment

I view them as a symbol of women pissing all over themselves.

Honestly, I have arthritic knees and even I can manage a squat wee when needed. Hang onto a fence for support if you have to.

Balletandbooks · 30/11/2022 00:19

It would have been fine in my work’s secret santa. But, we all gave rude / funny gifts, the boss loved it most of all! Really the most insulting gift would be socks or a box of chocolate because it implied you were boring / no good for a laugh!

But it really depends on the way your work does it! If it’s serious secret santa, and your boss is a serious person… no to the shewee!

catsonahottinroof · 30/11/2022 00:23

Not appropriate for anyone unless they'd specifically asked for it.

PickyEaters · 30/11/2022 00:32

If she's into hiking and needs one, she will surely already have one.
Coals to Newcastle and all that.

tillytown · 30/11/2022 00:45

Lol, no. Get her a bag of m&ms instead

CallieQ · 30/11/2022 01:11

Nooooo

dolor · 30/11/2022 01:57

Hahahaha I would so do this. This is hilarious.

Ericaequites · 30/11/2022 01:58

It’s not appropriate. Buy a nice candle, calendar, or tin of shortbread.

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/11/2022 10:46

Feminine empowerment? Eh?

luckylavender · 30/11/2022 10:55

Jesus, no. Entirely inappropriate.
