To ask what I can retrain in part time

I work as an accountant and have 2 young DC (4&1).

I am so bored of my work now and would love to get into something more people-y.

Careers I have considered and I am interested in include:
-Nursing
-Social work
-Teaching
-Police force
-Speech and language therapy

Unfortunately I've looked into it extensively and not one of these careers offer part time options while training! I definitely only want to work part time, at least until youngest DC Is at school.

If anyone is aware of any similar careers with part time training options, I would love to hear

Could you become a trainer in your field? Or make a slight swivel and do more business development type role?

Teaching offers many part time routes. You can do an apprenticeship part time if you already have a qualifying degree, but you'll need to have got substantial classroom experience first (eg by volunteering).

I am so sorry to hijack your thread, but just very quickly. I've left abusive exDH and am planning on retraining in accounting when DS starts nursery. Have you found it good with kids? Flexible? Do you work for someone or self employed?
That's it. Sorry!

Training in your field is a good idea. Are apprenticeships part time? Or online college courses?

Hi, good for you! I've found it great around the kids - I think that's why I'm so apprehensive to leave it. I work for a business doing management accounts so can't talk so much for financial accountancy in practice or self-employed, but I have found it very much a 9-5 job and good for work/life balance.
