How soon after symptoms stop would you book in? Can I book in as soon as I test negative, even if still have a cough?

Found a lump in my breast a week or so ago, and was giving it a chance to go down, as has happened in the past. But today it feels bigger, and I can see it when I'm lying down, so I want to get seen asap.

Thanks.

Yes, as soon as you test negative. I think it's pretty common for the cough to linger for weeks afterwards. Even in the early days of the pandemic they said as long as the fever was gone it was fine (assuming you'd completed isolation period).

I would get that lump seen definitely. If you're still testing positive maybe ring anyway?

Call your GP and ask them. They may be happy just to refer you from a phone call (maybe with a photo). Good luck!

Call the practise asap, they'll have their own protocol.

Good luck Flowers

Thanks. I don't know why I didn't just call. Can't think straight just now.

Called now and the receptionist just said she imagines that 5 days post positive test will be okay.

You don’t need to test negative. It’s just 5 days post positive test and as long as you feel okay in yourself I.e you don’t have a temp. You can still have a cough. You can test positive for up to 90 days on LFT if you’ve had covid because of antibodies so I seriously wouldn’t bother waiting on a negative test.

I hope your appointment goes well Flowers

Around my way there's (or at least was a couple of months ago) a 'hot' clinic at the local hospital.

If you have anything contagious it's the only place you can be seen - one Dr in a portacabin in the grounds fully suited and booted with PPE.

I only had suspected tonsillitis, but he seemed to be a bit bored and asked me about alsorts!

I just called 111 and that's where I got referred. I find 111 gives lots more flexible options for getting seen quickly than trying to battle through the GP triage system.
