Entering Denmark with my dd12 as she has a different name
I have an email from her dad
can’t find birth certificate but have her name change certificate
dd has her dads surname

starting to panic sge will be seperated from me in a different country I don’t know why I think of these things!

Honestly I wouldn’t worry. Cross the bridge when you come to it. Nine times out of ten they barely notice or care

RedHouseWins · 28/11/2022 23:28

You have what I assume you need. What is your concern exactly?

Luredbyapomegranate · 28/11/2022 23:30

It’ll be fine, lots of kids have different names from their mums, and Denmark is a gentle place - you aren’t going to be separated and interrogated at the airport

Allsnotwell · 28/11/2022 23:31

It’s more likely that would prevent you from leaving the first country rather than preventing you from returning

That said they usually separate you for a bag search to give the child chance to speak or ask questions.

I think you are over worrying - if they stop you they’ll make a few enquirers and let you board.

You'll be fine.
I've travelled a few times with DS and just took his birth certificate. I've been stopped twice but only coming back into the UK. Never been stopped in other countries.

pensionconfusion · 28/11/2022 23:33

I've flown with my daughter a few times abroad over the years and no one has said anything to me. It's not even something I have thought about.

Don't worry 😊

milkysmum · 28/11/2022 23:39

I wouldn't even give it a second thought. So many children have different names to parents.

madeleine85 · 28/11/2022 23:53

I did get a signed letter from my husband when traveling alone with our 1 year old though no one asked to see it. My dad years ago got stopped alone with my sister and the airport staff asked her (with him not allowed to be right there) if she was ok and going of her own free will... I think it is very unusual to be asked, but not impossible

Whoopsywoo · 28/11/2022 23:56

An thank you that’s put my mind at rest! I’m just a massive worrier and think up the worst case scenario lol

If you can, bring a photocopy of his passport or if he doesn't have one, his driving license- it confirms more who the email is from.

I wouldn't worry though. Like someone else said, it's Denmark, so while they can be officious, they're not scary horrible!
