To earn enough to live in the south east area and buy a home in your mid twenties? People say it's impossible yet it can be done with hard work.

I find that the majority of people who say that hard work has led to them having a degree of financial success ignore the instances of good luck that helped them along the way.

There are combinations of areas and salaries on which you can do it 🤷🏻‍♀️
And others on which you can’t.

Me too.

Of course it’s possible. But a lot of people don’t want to make sacrifices or compromise.

They just want it handed to them and whinge when it isn’t.

It is possible if you earn enough to save for a deposit. Some people will be able to and others won't.

AppleKatie · 28/11/2022 18:40

It’s possible of course it is.

for some of the people some of the time.

that doesn’t equate to all of the people all of the time.

Hahahaaaaaaa. Crack on, love. Check your privilege.

NoSquirrels · 28/11/2022 18:41

Even if you earn enough, it can only be done with ‘hard work’ by your mid-20s if you can also live almost rent-free in order to save a deposit. That requires a level of privilege…

AssumingDirectControl · 28/11/2022 18:42

Not this goady shit again…

I'd say for a single person with no help (which includes not living with parents to save) and having been to uni, it would be very difficult, as you wouldnt get started in your job till 21, giving you only 4 years to save the deposit as well as paying rent, bills, travel costs to work. Most young graduates don't earn enough to do that, however many costa coffees they do without.

Want to tell us how and when you did it, OP?
