Neighbours and parking - is this seen an normal and fine?

Our neighbours have 2 adult sons at home so have 4 cars and only 2 spaces for parking. We have one space but 2 cars so use the space on the road outside our house. If someone is parked there then I just go to the end of the road and turn right - it’s a walk past 6 terraced houses so not far and there’s lots of space.

Space outside our house doesn’t belong to us so it’s first come first serve so often next door’s son parks there. All fine.

Now the bit that annoys me. They’ve recently begun strategic parking so if son goes out, they move their car from their garage to save the space. I find it really irritating that they’re monopolising the space. I just think it’s a selfish dick move. (I’ve don’t agonise over this but saw them doing their manoeuvres a few moments ago and wondered if it’s a normal thing people do). I think I’d understand more if parking was significantly limited but there’s lots at the end of the short road and this bit is a small cul de sac.

I’d start knifing their tyres at midnight to be honest

you are clearly horrible

Our neighbours widened their driveway so they can park two cars on it and they still park one on the road. Makes me 😡 because they have decent cars and I'm afraid I'll scrape it getting mine in or out.

Sometimes they park just ever so slightly too close to my dropped curb which makes it doubly awkward but not so close I can say anything. I seethe inwardly instead.

They're retired so time isn't exactly an issue for them.

I find it a bit annoying but weirdly fascinating. They seem to have a superiority complex. We vaguely acknowledge each other to be friendly but keep it to a minimum. Apparently we have loads of space so that gives them more right to the road outside our home… our house is bigger but there’s 5 of us (and we paid more).

I don’t mind the walk down the road but if I need to unload I will happily block their garage while I do it (it blocks mine too but it’s the safest place). I know that makes me petty. I’m not slashing tyres though as clearly that’s rather extreme.

I took the tyre slashing remark as a joke. With the ubiquity of Ring doorbells/cameras these days, anyone would be a fool to do vandalism.

We have one like this in our road. He will only park his car outside certain houses and ours is one of them. He gets really twitched if he has to park his car not in one of the 3 spaces he considers to be "his". I have caught him on several occasions moving his car to outside our house. He has a drive, but won't park there as that's for his wife's car.

I wouldn't care, but he barely uses his bloody car so if you leave a space and he is out, that's it for a week or more. I just park on the road outside my house now rather than on our drive because of him. It would be better to leave the space free, but it isn't worth the angst.

Annoying bell ends at the end of my Drive as well

tight turning corner but everyone has drives. Nob heads at end of Drive have 4 cars and space for 2 on the drive and one blocking part of drive (no white line)

they park all 4 cars on the road of the Drive leaving their drive and in front of it free

if someone dares park in one of their spots, instead of parking further up (plenty of room) they just double park and block the Drive completely

This happens on my street too. One delightful individual has four vehicles, one of which is ALWAYS parked outside my house. If he needs to use the vehicle outside mine, he scurries about, like the rat he is, positioning another vehicle in its place.

Try to rise above it.
