For taking 5 months to choose my sons mattress

Please help me. My son is in a perfectly fine single bed but it is not perfectly fine for him as he is over 6ft. I found a perfect double bed frame with drawers 5 months ago that's been sat in boxes since but I can't find a mattress. He wants a memory foam mattress but I just cannot decide. Anyone have any suggestions? Probably £350 max budget. I am unreasonable for taking so long to find one I know.

If he can't pick when given a budget then get him to choose someone else to decide for him. We just went for the cheapest ikea spring mattresses and they've been fine for 5 years now. He's a teen, presumably a healthy weight, no back issues? A basic mattress should be fine.

I think you can over think these things. DH and I bought a Staples vivas and mattress in 1992. It was always comfy but 23 years on was tired and the cats had ripped the divan to pieces. We had it taken to the tip when we moved.

We chose a perfect divan and mattress from.JL (I daren't even whisper the price) and were informed the week before of a 4-6 week manufacturing delay. I chose a king size bed on the internet and it had to be in stock for delivery the day after we took possession of the new house. It was £650 for the mattress and divan, they discounted an £800 set due to the inconvenience and gave me the option to cancel the "perfect" bed. The emergency bed was going to be moved to the guest room ASAP.

Funnily enough we both found the emergency bed super comfy. My back was better than it had been in years within a week. 8 years on, still good.

No wonder after sleeping on your other bed for 23 years! Bloody hell no wonder your backs were hurting. Any new mattress would have felt like heaven after that.
