To feel very sorry for myself indeed following the dog/daughter/puke/bed incident?

Last night I tried to go to bed to find a big pile of dog vomit had been spewed on it much earlier in the day. I detected that fact because it had soaked through duvet cover, duvet, sheet mattress cover and into the mattress, and the leftover lumps were very dry.

I shut the dog out of my room every because she is not allowed on the bed.

My daughter had 'felt sorry for her' and had let her in there before she went to work.
So possibly eight hours of puke soaking, and SO MUCH money and time to wash and dry it all.
Sob

Is daughter old enough to buy you a new mattress and bedding? If so. She should reimburse you

BatshitBanshee · 25/11/2022 17:07

What age is DD?

BatshitBanshee · 25/11/2022 17:09

Sorry! Just seen your daughter let her in your room before she went to work! Jesus Christ if she can work she can replace all the bedding and topper and duvet!!!! The mattress... Can you flip it? Can it be rescued? I wouldn't be feeling sorry for myself, I'd be very very cross.

Dd would be sorting this out at my house

Pulipalaver · 25/11/2022 17:18

She is 17.

If your daughter felt sorry for the dog why didn't she let the dog into her bedroom? Then she could have come home to 8 hours of vomit soaking into her mattress.
I'm with the previous posters, your dd should be clearing up the mess and replacing anything that can't be salvaged.

Yeah she's old enough to pay towards replacing the bedding and duvet and topper and help clean. There were a multitude of things to do to help the dog feel better or whatever she felt sorry for the dog for besides opening up your closed bedroom and letting her in.

(And I'm a dog lover)

Stop sobbing and tell her to fix it.
