To take DS to miller and Carter?

It is a friend's birthday meal tonight. Table booked for 8pm, they have invited DS. There will only be four of us.

Is it too late to take a four year old? He should be pretty quiet playing games on my phone.

I took him and it was fine, he was quiet and was a bit tired towards the end so watched videos with headphones. It was a really nice night.

Thank you everyone!

Why does everyone always get so uppity when Miller and Carter is mentioned “it’s a chain” “it’s not posh” and the ffs’s seem so unnecessary. It doesn’t read like OP was asking because it was Miller and Carter, rather because of the time she was going out.

hope you had a fab meal OP

I've never been to a Miller & Carter but had booked for our date night next weekend. I'm so glad I saw this thread, cancelling it now.

😂 how ridiculous can you get?

Glad you had a lovely evening OP

Why would you cancel?

I8toys · 08/01/2023 19:36

Am I the only person not to know what Miller & Carter is?

FrownedUpon · 08/01/2023 19:39

Do your friends really want him there though? Changes the whole atmosphere when someone brings a DC. I’d leave him at home personally.

Bit late now.

@I8toys its a restaurant chain, food a bit like Harvester, steak, chicken and chips always load of children in our local one as its near travellers site.

All the people saying "It's only Miller and Carter", and being snooty about it.

It's a very expensive restaurant chain!

😂 It isn't fancy, but it isn't akin to Harvester either. A PP describing it as at the upper end of chain restaurants is correct IMO (there's nothing wrong with Harvester, but it definitely has a different target).

Mum2jenny · 08/01/2023 20:13

Went once, never again as it was not a good experience, but it may have been the issue with our local one as my dd has been to one near her which was apparently good.

DuplicateUserName · 08/01/2023 20:19

I love Miller and Carter, their steaks are amazing.

Candleabra · 08/01/2023 20:21

It’s not like a harvester!
Ive been a couple of times and thought it was very nice. I would definitely go there for date night or a special occasion.
