I've been with DH for 20 years, married for 15 years. I knew I was in love with him when I felt excited to hear his voice, see him coming towards me , feel him touch my hand. I know that I still love him because we both put each other first in all things, we actively choose to be together and we both enjoy each other's company, no matter what is happening. Sex isn't part of it because that can't happen , but there is still a big difference between what we feel for each other and what we each feel for our children and other family. The big difference is that we both choose to be together, rather than loving people because they are related to us.

I don't really know. I believe I love dp but I'm.not sure what that means.

Mostly I think of it in negative terms, in that life will be very bleak without the person.

I've realised some of what I experienced as love in the past was more of a gap or deficiency in myself that I expected being with them to fill.
