I’ve read other spooky and unexplained threads on here and they’re always really interesting. I’ve never actually had an unexplained moment myself until this week.
im sure there’s a logical explaination to this but I can’t find one and I freaked myself out a little bit!
i was at the stables getting ready to ride my horse. It’s very rural and it’s surrounded by rolling fields. there’s neighbouring farms but they’re not directly beside it, there’s lots of fields inbetween. Basically, it’s very rural.
I was getting my horse ready and I noticed that the gate to the arena had been left open- i saw it open and heard it banging in the breeze aswell. I had to go into the arena to move the jumps from a previous session and I left it open- I remember thinking I should shut it to stop it banging but there’s no point because im about to go in. I had to take a phone call (10/15 mins or so) then I tacked up my horse…and realised the arena gate was now closed over. I assumed the wind had blown it until I realised that the loop of rope had been thrown and wrapped over the fence to close the gate.
I know there will be a rational explanation but I can’t figure it out! I don’t really believe in ghosts and even if I did I doubt they’d hang about at a stable! But I have no idea how the gate was shut over. I guess a gust of wind could have blown it over and lifted up the rope and it got looped over the fence? There was definitely nobody else at the yard, it was definitely just me. Very very very rarely other farmers will pass through to speak to people at our stables so i suppose it could have been someone and they shut the gate when they saw it was open, but I would have seen them passing through and usually you can hear them aswell. They would have to cross all the fields and there wasn’t any footprints in the mud at all.
I know nobody here can tell me what happened so I don’t really know why I’m posting, just felt a bit freaked out by it all! It was dark and cold and generally a bit spooky which obviously didn’t help and made me even more frightened!
