I have considered buying this type of blanket for a good while, as I have awful problems with staying asleep.
I did see that Aldi were selling them for £35.
what put me off buying, was that nowhere on the packaging, stated the size of it.
therefore I am left wondering if their one is for a single person to use, or if me and my man could fit comfortably.
I would appreciate reading your experience of buying and using one whether that’s you as an individual, or as part of a couple.
many thanks in anticipation…

I've got a Kuddly one over a 4.5 tog coverless duvet. I love it.

I've just ordered one. I have been meaning to for ages and this thread has prompted me. I keep saying I need earlier nights and hopefully this will help me sleep.

I have 2 , amazing. First one i bought a few years ago. I bought another 7kg last week in dark grey from Aldi for £25. Bargain price, its just as good as my expensive one. I use both and they help me sleep longer and deeper

I crocheted a huge blanket using aran weight yarn and I use it as a weighted blanket when I need to, because it's so big I can fold it to get the weight I need depending on what's bothering me. I suffer from fibromyalgia (40 years next year!) and the blanket helps if my pain levels increase.

I swear by mine and magnesium supplements to help me sleep. Without them I'm tossing and turning all night.

ThistleSifter · 21/11/2022 18:06

I didn’t pay attention to the best weight for me and instead bought the heaviest assuming “best” … I can barely move under it and it’s okay to relax under (once the heavy mass has been slowly pulled onto position), but when I’ve fallen asleep under it I wake up panicking because of being pinned to the bed and unable to move 🙃

RealBecca · 21/11/2022 18:18

I dont have one but I do put a second duvet on the bed and it feels heavier and I sleep better. Maybe try that first if cost is an issue?

OldTinHat · 21/11/2022 18:23

I absolutely love mine. I have an empty duvet cover as a sheet, then the weighted blanket and a duvet on top of that so it's very warm with all the layers. In the summer I ditch the duvet.

DesertIslandCondiment · 22/11/2022 13:28

Mine has come today. I had a rubbish nights sleep last night. I kept turning over as I couldn't get comfy. I'm hoping this helps even a little bit.

I've only ordered a single as I didn't want to force it on DH so we will see.

MangoBiscuit · 22/11/2022 13:33

I love mine! Weighted blanket first, then duvet / quilt etc. That way I can properly tuck myself in with it like a burrito. I tend to sleep better, more deeply, with it on. I also find that I drift off again faster when I do wake up in the night.

DD has one and loves it. Check the weight you need.
Initially she had a single one but it kept slipping off the bed, so I bought a double and it drapes nicely over her. It has a removable cover but I tend to put a sheet under it too. If really cold she'll have a thin duvet as well but is usually fine just with the sheet and weighted blanket.
It's quite a marmite thing! DD draped the blanket over her Dad and he freaked out - really hated the constriction and weight of it.
