To throw everything away

I have a baby and toddler

Ive lost weight and all my clothes look baggy and rubbish.

I would love to sell on vinted etc but no time to brush my teeth let alone take and upload photos of every item. I have lots of names, designers etc that I'm sure would go for some money

AIBU to just give it all away or to charity.

Has anyone done this? Did it revolutionise your life or did you regret

I want a capsule wardrobe now I'm a mum with less time and parties to attend and frankly less clothes equals less laundry.

Nb anything new I buy will be preloved bc y'know sustainability/cost of living

Nice to donate to charity.

Oysterbabe · 20/11/2022 21:23

Yes give to charity, DH has sold a lot of the kids stuff but I definitely can't be arsed with that shit.

MarshaBradyo · 20/11/2022 21:24

Definitely don’t just throw it away

Charity first

Thatiswild · 20/11/2022 21:24

The only option is some shops will sell on your behalf and take a cut so you could just dump it with them, otherwise charity shop would be lovely

I gave bags and bags of stuff to charity when we moved. I don't have designer stiff as such but had some pretty decent clothes and shows, embarrassingly some that had never been worn.

I have a toddler, but even before I had a child, I've just given lots of stuff away like this in a mad fit of decluttering.

I don't give much money to charity so I feel

A lot of typos in my previous message, but you get the gist

You could send for a thrift+ bag. They'll do the selling for you and exchange from credit against their stock or gift cards. I have bought but not sold with them but it is a very tempting way to slim down your wardrobe.

Lawandsawdus · 20/11/2022 21:37

Do you need the money you might make and ho much could it be? If you’d make £20 with a lot of effort and time not worth it. If quite a bit more do you know anyone who sells on vinted and might do the leg work and you take a percentage of profit?

otherwise yes to charity. for the clutter and tidiness. I don’t get the laundry thing though. If you go out a lot less with less outfits won’t that happen anyway?
