Has anyone else seen this? It's on the main page of their website and is wildly inappropriate.

A little girl as in 5-7 (shit with ages) is on a bed holding a Teddy bear dressed in bondage and fetish gear.

She also doesn't look particularly happy.

I don't understand how a whole team of people presumably thought this was ok! Its gross.

It's catwoman, they have a whole load of DC and Marvel costumes for the Bears

Ah OK, looked like a bondage bear when it flashed up on my timeline!

I hate how mainstream BDSM has become but then to extend this to involve children is absolutely reprehensible. There is so much pressure to have kinky sex and it is so normalised (choking etc) on young people but now starting as early as 2 or 3 as that girl appears to be. It's not cool or edgy it's fucked up.

teezletangler · 24/11/2022 07:43

Good to see that the photographer Misan Harriman spoke out about this.

This image is also incredibly disturbing. The documents are a print out of the 2008 Supreme Court case, United States v Williams, which criminalised the publishing of child pornography.

What the fuck is wrong with them?**

Standard shock advertising to get people talking (and it's clearly working)

queenofarles · 24/11/2022 08:08

Their add campaign is more disturbing than these images .

, there are lots of hints about child abuse , shots of court documents about the upholding the promotion or advertisement of child pornography United States vs Williams. Is clearly visible next to their bag.

in another add there is a visible certificate With the name John Philip fisher a convicted criminal who sexually abused his granddaughter ,

in another a woman sitting in a desk with books next to her with the name Michael Borremans,
and yes his subjects are mostly children.

I’m not buying their apology ,

there is no way no one knew what’s going on, everyone from the person who went and bought that book to the person who searched that specific court document to the person who placed that certificate of a convicted child molester, everyone knew what sort of theme they are trying to create ,

everything is cleverly placed with a recurring theme in all these images.

This is not 'standard shock advertising'.

This is child sexual abuse and requires a criminal investigation.

Remember the car ad with the girl child leaning suggestively against it sucking a lollipop? Remember the Zara kids campaign with the girl child straddling a bed?
This doesn't come out of nowhere.

Agree. Not sure why there isn’t one. Is it because it requires someone to bring charges (not sure if it’s a U.K. campaign or elsewhere) and everyone from client to parents signed it off.

I’d like to see an investigation though. Only way to stop this continuing, otherwise it’s oh advertising shock tactics.

queenofarles · 24/11/2022 08:29

I’m surprised there are no cancel Balenciaga on SM?

ButterflyBiscuit · 24/11/2022 08:30

Wow Queen. I didnt realise all that whenever I saw the images. That's seriously not right

Ihateboris · 24/11/2022 08:34

This is disgusting. Why would the parents allow their child to model for such a campaign????

knittingaddict · 24/11/2022 08:40

Punk? Seriously?

Those outfits are equally, if not more, identified with bondage these days. I struggle to believe that this was an innocent confusion on the part of the company or advertisers. "Oops, we meant punk". How naive can you be.

Some parents don't act in their children's best interest.

That's just disgusting ... delete and apologise 🤯🤬 they should have had the gumption to realise it's inappropriate!

In their eyes it will be mission accomplished

RaRaRaspoutine · 24/11/2022 09:17

jays · 21/11/2022 09:10

In the ad campaign there is documentation of a court case sticking out from under a bag. Ashcroft V Free Speech co…. The case was about virtual child pornography. It’s on the Balenciaga website.

Oh my god, talk about hiding in plain sight. That's fucking disgusting.

queenofarles · 24/11/2022 11:42

when discussing the campaign what exactly did they talk about , like how did the wording sound ?
what notes did they take, research they did , I don’t believe that not one single person did not think how bad it would look like.

And it’s not just the sexualised i images of children , it’s what on display , the more you look the more disturbing it appears , why are there empty wine glasses ?
