Is this something I need to worry about? Heart rate ~55 during the night

Twice recently my heart rate has dipped to around 55 in the night. I was awake though laying in bed. It goes back up to around 70bpm which is normal for me when I got up and moved around a bit. (Wasn't a false reading - came from my fitness tracker but read the same on the pulse ox I have!)

I've been unwell and I'm struggling with anxiety too at the moment so I'm not sure if it's something I need to actually worry about!

Thank you!

Apparently this morning mine was 34 BPM whilst sitting at my desk. Still alive!

Mine is 55 when I’m up and about. It’s fine

I have just had a load of cardio investigations and my heart rate goes down t around 40 at points in the night. The cardiologist isn't concerned.

I have an arrhythmia and suspected AF and my heart rate regularly goes down to around 40 at night. My cardiologist is not worried at all he says it means I’m healthy, and to be expected jn all adults

Totally normal. My resting HR is around 54 in the day and it's gone below 50 at night.

A resting heart rate between 40 and 60 beats a minute is quite common during sleep and in some people.

Mine occasionally goes down to around 50 when resting in bed watching TV... I don't know how low it goes to overnight though as I don't wear a tracker.

Have heard that if you are fairly slim/short/petite it will be lower too. Which makes sense as there's less body the heart needs to pump blood around!

QuestionableMouse · 18/11/2022 19:24

I'm not particularly fit at the moment!

Thank you all though, been very reassuring 😊

Mine goes to 42-45 at times overnight and will average around 55. I don't think there's anything unusual.
