Hi put in aibu for more people to see.
long story short my sister is being discharged from a psychiatric hospital after 3ish yrs being an inpatient. She has a lovely and cosy one bed council flat but she has nothing what so ever. Her care team have applied for a community care grant which see will get but i dont know how much it will cover as obviously she will need everything. I will help as much as possible but it would be helpful to have a idea what she will likely to get. Has anyone received one or known someone to get one?
Thanks

CCG's are usually determined by what items are actually required, rather than just being an arbitrary lump sum handout, so if she's asked for a bed, white goods, linen, towels, and so on, they'll normally ask you to quote in your application what you expect to spend on these things and either give you that amount, or provide the items themselves.

Agree with above, its more of an item provision than money provided. Did she have nothing prior to admission?

In my area, goods are provided rather than funds given directly. Her care team should be able to tell her and if not someone from The Scottish Welfare fund (within the local authority) should be able to say what's been asked for.
Typically this can include carpets, white goods, essential furniture (sofa, bed, drawers) curtains and poles, kitchen items (utensils, pans, plates etc) a hoover, light shades... Essential kit to make a home liveable really.
All the best for her return

Apologies just read 3 years admission not 3 months! There should be an MDT around discharge planning where this should be addressed.
