To ask what's biting me?

Never posted before just a lurker! But I need help please if anyone could possibly, that would be great as I'm literally losing my mind here. Prone to being bitten as is my eldest son but usually in summer.
Around 8 days ago eldest starts being bitten 3 days in a row had a couple of bites, ankle, thigh and then one on hip. Starts using repellant and has had no more since. On 3rd day I had a bite on ankle whilst sleeping. 4th day I had two on ankle, 5th day one on thigh and 3 behind knee, 6th day 2 behind same knee and one on back. Repellant didnt work for me but some Avon spray seems to have stopped them. Now my middle child has been bit 3 times on knee and two down leg all in one go, dont think had them this morning, never usually prone to bites.
Have seen a couple of tiny flying bugs (midge?) In the house, killed one yesterday but couldn't find the other.
I'm constantly itching and on edge! Have attached some photos of all of our bites, please could you help me identify what it could be?

Sorry for the long winded explanation! Thank you.

Fleas.

rainonasunnyday · 15/11/2022 19:13

Flea

Si1ver · 15/11/2022 19:14

Yep those are flea bites

Paperdolly · 15/11/2022 19:16

Fleas. Get room bombs or spray and vacuum like mad.

OnlyFannys · 15/11/2022 19:18

I was thinking bed bugs with the amount you are having and them being in a line

BiteyBitingBiters · 15/11/2022 19:19

Thank you for your quick responses! I thought I would feel better knowing what they were but I definitely don't! We have a dog but always use vet prescription flea stuff every 28 days 😟

Definitely fleas. Lower body and close together = fleas.

BiteyBitingBiters · 15/11/2022 19:40

I'm going to treat the house for fleas starting as soon as kids leave in the morning. But @KnickerlessParsons we've had quite a few single bites aswell, such as on my back, thigh, sons back and ankle. Does this still mean fleas? Thank you

Fleas bite in a line too

OnlyFannys · 15/11/2022 19:46

Fleas would definitely be preferable over bed bugs

Pixiedust1234 · 15/11/2022 19:49

Fleas. But the top right photo is of bite from a lesser spotted flea cobra. They are pretty fearsome. Go back to the vets and ask for a different active ingredient. Some fleas can become resistant to certain medications.

gamerchick · 15/11/2022 19:49

Fleas hitchike. I got a cat flea infestation from a bag of donated kids clothes, was not impressed. Was an utter bastard to get under control.

Time to treat the house. Relocate your animals while you do it though

OneTC · 15/11/2022 19:58

Fleas bite your ankles mostly, although if your dog goes on your bed they could be anywhere.

I wouldn't entirely rule out bed bugs. It's unusual not to see fleas once you've noticed the bites imo.

Put the dog on somewhere white and give him a scratch and see what falls off

BiteyBitingBiters · 15/11/2022 20:10

@gamerchick can I ask how you got rid of them, what products you used? Thank you.

@OneTC I know the bites tonight in a line and the two together happened downstairs, but think most the others were at night. Which is making me hope it's not bedbugs? I was thinking it would be midge bites though, now I'm almost glad its fleas if it's not bedbugs!

Thank you for all the replies, cant wait to get started in the morning. Feel like I'm going to scratch myself to bits and never sleep again. 😢Never thought we'd have fleas as they are always treated.
