School lunchtime

what do boys at high school usually do at lunchtime?
yesterday got a call from school at lunch to come collect DS 12 he had banged head on brick wall and was feeling dizzy .
Advised to get him checked . So went to local walk in got him checked over was told it will be sore and probably worse today as when you hit back it pushes brain to front ect so will prob have pain back and front .

Today it just hurts when he stands up but otherwise happy enough. I was told he just has to rest now for 7 days so can go school but no running , sport ect basically just sit and walk.

The problem I have is him with his group of friends play man down where they grab each other and throw each down . Heard them speak about this online and I’ve seen the finger bruises on his arms . So spoke about that few weeks back and had chat as his arms were a mess so maybe that’s not a good game to be playing.!

Anyway yesterday he said he was running and hit wall I couldn’t understand this as wall was at top of hill and banged back of head . Anyway this morning it turns out he was pushed by friend fell back and hit head .

kept him home today to see how pain went but if ok tomorrow can I trust him to go in for the next 3 days and just do nothing really at lunch except sit down .

Tell the school. The boys involved can be told not to be so stupid (and possibly sanctioned) and duty staff be told to keep an eye out.

He could also go to somewhere like the library at lunch till he’s better.

Ive found my Ds and his friends did this.
Now they are older they play more sports and this season esp , the injuries seem greater ( 14-15yrs!)
At your DS age, he should listen and follow through your advice of no rough play.....dont know how you cant stop him though overall?

I don't really understand. Did he hit the front of his head or the back?

Did he lose consciousness?

Does he have a headache?

Is he concussed?

If not, then I don't understand the 7-day thing.

He hit back of head . I think friend has pushed him from front, he’s fell back on bum head has hit wall .
No loss of consciousness that I was told about just crying and feeling dizzy .

It was a doctor who looked him over and gave advice.

Also footballs are banned for his year group as too many bystanders getting hit .
So they come up with other stuff to do and from what I gather this is man down games ect .

Doctor said when you hit back of head with force later on you can get pain at front also and that’s normal .
No headache thou just pain when he stood up but as its been 24hrs now I’m hoping all ok .

Just don’t want any pushing, mandown carry on when I send him back in .
