Thats it really. !

Yes , on mn , its seen as a privilege to have a mortgage, a job etc .

But sometimes it feels hard and you just wish that you got a break . Recognition of the hard slog maybe .

I am not begrudging those on benefits who got the extra payment support, its more about just wanting to have a treat / a bonus/ etc .. a spare bit of money.. a boost .. the heating on … or maybe recognition that the middle can struggle too ?

I totally accept that people can struggle and need help , sort of also feel the struggling middle are invisible ? ( and not seen to have the’ right ‘to have a little moan as it does you good sometimes )

I do think we are incredibly lucky to live in a county with a welfare state, nhs, free gp care I really do .
But sometimes, it just would be nice not to feel you are paying taxes , working as much as possible, and to be able not to feel squeezed all the time and the need to just have a grump about it .

sometimes it is good to let of steam .. when you cant IRL

and then you move on in a more positive fashion .

It’s very foolish to make things up when it’s so easy to check.

Dh's aunt (food factory worker) is from outer Glasgow... Nowhere near Bradford like my family member the postie 🙄not even close to decent sleuthing.

Clearly there's some really awful areas of both cities, but also some really nice areas (or in these cases, ok places with decent gardens and good transport links). Doesn't make the houses special - to my eye just standard family houses with not exactly luxury finishes or acres of land etc.

P.s. I'm not trying to be horrible about dh's aunt btw. My dad worked on a factory production line (not food) but she basically worked in food work which is only zero hours now. Not a stable decenctly paid job.

Old enough to have seen the 70s as a young person, and the resurgent boom of the 80s as a young professional, then the 90s recession as a newly self employed person, followed by the Blair Cool Britannia era, and the GFC. This phase is just the unevitable unwinding of a decade of quantitative easing and asset inflation, plus globalisation, and Brexit... I do hope fervently that we can move to a Swiss model of rubbing along with the EU.

no idea why you're seeing that. sspc should have similar properties on - and you need to factor in the offers over system.

You look at Rightmove if you don’t believe me. Three bed at £600k.

Rightmove and zoopla aren't popular housing sites in Scotland it tends to be the local area site used far more SPC site so EsPC, ASPC etc etc

Rightmove is really popular in Scotland. I'd say it is the main site. I buy and sell properties and it's the first one I check.

Then you will be missing a lot of properties!

I doubt it, I do check all the sites but rightmove is definitely my first port of call and it has the majority, if not all, on there. Maybe its different on the east coast or north but definitely west coast we use rightmove predominately.
