AIBU re toilet roll

Notatoilettroll · 12/11/2022 20:00

I buy my loo roll from Who Gives a Crap so I have worked out from my orders that I use on average on loo roll every fortnight.

According to Google the average person uses 100 rolls a year. AIBU to think that this statistic is wrong and I am normal?

So many variables to usage. That’s why it’s in averages.
we use 2 ply from Aldi, I would prefer 3 ply, but can’t find any that are in Aldi. We go through 9 every two weeks, 1 adult, a teenage girl and a 10yo

I used to go out on a Saturday night. Now I spend it at home enthusiastically chatting to strangers on the internet about my toilet roll usage. What has happened? Grin

😂😂so true!!
I was also imagining circumstances where the police had to look through my online profile after my mysterious death or something (a la the tv), and they came up with this!!

Fifthtimelucky · 12/11/2022 20:19

Some people spend a lot more time at home than others, so it's not surprising that they use more loo roll!

My husband and I use more loo roll at home now that we are both retired and no longer out of the house 12 hours a day 5 days a week.

I use just less than one a week.

But not all toilet rolls are the same.

Absolutely, those quilted ones last far less than standard loo roll.

parrotonthesofa · 12/11/2022 20:30
Grin Ok so... WGAC are longer Compact are longer Quilted last less (but are softer on your bum hole)

NOT ALL TOILET PAPER IS EQUAL!

NOT ARE BUMS ARE EQUAL!!

We need some sort of comparative table or excel document or something.

Reallybadidea · 12/11/2022 20:30

Well this is a new variation on the theme of 'I'm a better person because I change my bed/wash my towels/have my thermostat set/spend on shopping/present buying at Christmas'. Christ.

parrotonthesofa · 12/11/2022 20:37

Not ALL bums are equal I meant to say. Grin

I suppose we should also say NOT ALL POOS ARE EQUAL too! Hence the differing toilet roll usage.

I am too invested in this thread.

MissPoldark · 12/11/2022 20:46

That sounds about right. Sometimes I manage to get through half a roll per poop 😳

WorriedMillie · 12/11/2022 20:50

OH has IBD, so uses lots, moreso during a flare up
I don’t use much at all

Mum2jenny · 12/11/2022 20:54

What like that Zoe app study for covid? We can all log our loo roll use on an app?

Hankunamatata · 12/11/2022 20:58

I have andrex puppy equivalent of children. Bloody roll a day. Always cheap stuff as doesn't block drains.

WhyOY · 12/11/2022 20:59

Also do you wfh?

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 12/11/2022 21:02

I roll per person per week here.
Before lockdown I would have had no idea.

gotelltheoldmandowntheroad · 12/11/2022 21:06

Roll a day
two WFH adults
poo 2-3 times per day
child also poos at least once an day when home
use for occasional kitchen duties

Yesthatismychildsigh · 12/11/2022 21:07

That’s the so called eco company that overcharges and unnecessarily wraps rolls. This is the most unsubtle advertisement I’ve seen for a (intended pun) shit company.

Thats a point!

ItsNotReallyChaos · 12/11/2022 21:09

This depends a bit on whether you're at home all week or out at work 5 days a week,

Someone who leaves the house at 7am to commute to work, then goes to the gym after work and returns to the house at 8pm won't be using much toilet roll at home at all.

CoastalWave · 12/11/2022 21:10

Christ. We go through a roll a day!!!

Nah, I reckon it's the new competitive undereating.

ColdfingersWarmfart · 12/11/2022 21:15

We use about a roll a day but that's between 3 adults who all work from home, 2 of those have regular periods and we don't buy tissues, find toilet roll much softer on the nose.

merryhouse · 12/11/2022 21:23

Don't forget the couple who lived by the sea and used loo roll to wipe sand off their car windows twice a day (can't remember the thread, but the op got decidedly annoyed at other posters' insinuations over their usage Grin)

hiyaqwerty · 12/11/2022 21:32

How on earth are you using 1 roll within 2 weeks???

Even if I was just using the roll, 1 would last me 3-4 days

As a family it lasts a day and a half days.

whatwasthiscritter · 12/11/2022 21:33

This all sounds mad to me! We have 4 adults and a younger teen in this house and we use approx 10 tools a week. My DP uses the most though. He was away recently and the usage dropped considerably
