Zopiclone, how well do you sleep?

I've taken zopiclone a few years ago on 3 night's when I had a bereavement and it worked really well.

This time, I've taken it on 3 night's (about once every 2 weeks) to try and get a better night's sleep as my health condition means it's really difficult get to sleep and stay asleep, even through I am exhausted because I keep twitching... admittedly I have slept better, but still keep waking up every few hours.

Anyone else had this experience? Is there a "better" sleeping pill I can ask for?

Thanks!

@MeOlBamBoo well the Dr's thought it was chronic fatigue but then "not typical" then got more symptoms, and g.p is saying I need to write down EVERYTHING that's going on to show the neurologist because it's a bit of a mystery....

I've had a blood test for magnesium levels and they are normal. My husband has now started sleeping in the living room because I twitch so much. Sad, but he needs to sleep well to help me with everything I can no longer do as well as carry on working full-time...

Thanks everyone for meds suggestions!

It does nothing for me. I even took 2 X 7.5 and absolutely nothing! I only ever got given it on odd occasions.

@TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz oh good the hospital "sleeping". My twitches are set off by noise as well as rest, so trying to sleep when I had to stay in last week was impossible. I was so ill I couldn't talk properly and the patient next to me had dementia and was talking to her self all night with loud grating voice, which went straight through my ear plugs and even music on my ear phones. Worse place for me with all the beeping, loud nurses and other patients snoring, plus this poor woman.

I was prescribed zopiclone during my divorce, but didn't really get on with it.

The OTC tablets worked much better for me and the pharmacist said that a lot of people told her that. So I just buy diphenhydramine hydrochloride when I really desperately need a full night's sleep. If you haven't already tried everything else then it might be worth taking the various things available without a prescription. Even some of the herbal tablets seem to work better for me than zopiclone.

Before the massive betrayal trauma that triggered my divorce, I was a champion sleeper! I still have disturbed sleep four years on, but it's not as bad.

I agree that exercise, fresh air, relaxation all help. I also found rainforest sounds on Alexa quite good at getting me back to sleep, and sometimes use an acupressure mat because that also works for me.

Have you tried time release/sustained release melatonin? Very easy and affordable to order from Biovea (from America). You can take up to 10mg, some people use a lot less do you could maybe order say 3mg tablets and start of with one?
