AIBU to cry every time at the Sleepy time episode of Bluey?

Feel very silly every time this happens but I always well up when the mum says to Bingo that she'll always be there for her even if she can't see her. My DD has some (minor) sleep issues and I feel like I perhaps it strikes a chord with me because I always want to be there for her in a similar way. Plus pregnant and hormonal :-D

It got me right in the feels first time too. But I’m not pregnant and don’t even have that excuse.

Some episodes of Bluey are just really beautiful.

YANBU. I told my manfriend about it, he watched it to understand what on Earth I was going on about. He cried. He doesn’t even have kids Grin

SwapPlaces · 07/11/2022 23:44

No you are not unreasonable in the slightest; it’s absolutely beautiful.

The buddies who are 12 and growing up always gets me crying.

Also the dad has me laugh/crying when he has to wait for his spring rolls.

SouperNoodle · 08/11/2022 00:12

Bluey is just amazing. It's made me laugh and cry (sometimes both simultaneously) many times!

MrPoppysParka · 08/11/2022 00:14

I had to ban my then seven year old from watching it. Think full on, wracking sobs for 30 minutes. It was an experience!

Namechanger355 · 08/11/2022 00:19

Me too - also pregnant but watch it with 3 year old and it gets me every single time - even though I know what’s going to happen and I plan to not cry

bakewellbride · 08/11/2022 02:54

I've seen sleepy time 4 or 5 times now and cry every single time! The music is amazing too.

Rockbird · 08/11/2022 03:46

I don't know about Bluey but my youngest is 10 and I still cry buckets at the Waybuloo theme. Not pregnant although menopausal so hormones or lack thereof could be responsible!

CharIotte · 11/11/2022 07:26

Honestly I thought it was just me being a hormonal wreck.

Ball my eyes out every time

FallopianTubeTrain · 11/11/2022 07:34

YANBU

Also, the Hey Duggee first day song rolls a tear down my face each time

CatsCatsCats11 · 11/11/2022 07:56

Don't watch the rugrats movie postpartum, I sobbed like a baby watching Tommy look after his little brother when they were lost.

I had to ban the final episode of Masha and the Bear because it made me cry like an I’m not quite sure what…

Wackadoo · 16/11/2022 00:15

Yup, every single time.

The music in Bluey is absolutely superb. Always perfectly captures the moment and the emotion they’re trying to invoke, whether it’s funny, sad or otherwise.

most parents I know love Bluey even more than their kids. Even my ILs call me up shrieking NEW SEASON OF BLUEY JUST ARRIVED ON THE ABC 🤣

YorkshireTeaCup · 16/11/2022 00:16

I love this episode. Baby Race also gets me every time - my DD has been the last one in our little group to meet all her milestones and it just hits so hard 🥲

lucywho123 · 16/11/2022 07:46

Oh I just watched this episode with my DD because of this thread and now I’m re-applying make up before dropping her to CM. Ha. I’ve become soft since having her though so I’ll blame it on that 😬

RFPO77 · 16/11/2022 07:47

Has me sobbing every time! 💐

PortiasBiscuit · 16/11/2022 07:48

I always struggled with the Night Garden and the concept of a little boy setting off onto that dark sea, all alone with just a tiny light. Still affects me if I catch a glimpse now, my youngest is 17yo.

Timetochangetheoil · 16/11/2022 07:51

I’ve cried at Bluey so many times (and laughed way too hard - it’s the best!) One that really got me was when Chilli is trying to get her dad to rest. At the end she leans on his shoulder as they are looking out over the pond and she says something like “that was a long time ago” when he says she used to play there all the time. And he just says “no kiddo, it was yesterday,” and she turns in to a puppy again for a second. I am welling up typing this!
Also, Bluey’s first steps…”you’re doing great.” Something every tired mother needs to hear!
