Ask what’s the worst holiday you’ve ever had?

I’ve been lucky and never stayed somewhere terrible apart from one place.

No one at the front desk for half an hour. I called the number left and no one answered. Knocked on the office door (could hear people) and no one answered.

The room didn’t lock and they pretended not to understand. I had to carry any valuables with me whenever I left.

Dominican Republic, majestic elegance resort.

5 stars, good reviews, high expectations, was going to book lots of exciting excursions.

Reality was high humidity, so the room stunk of mould. We had food poisoning every day, so had constant diarrhoea, had to pop Imodium tablets every day. All other people we spoke to at the resort also had food poisoning. Apparently the Dominican Republic is known for food poisoning, they call it the Dominican cleanse 🙄

BF got terrible sunburn on the first day. So we were in no state to go on any exciting excursions we had planned.

When we got back home we had to wash our clothes 3 times to get the stink of mould out of them🤢

@NCFT0922 my grandparents lived in Cabo Roig from 2000 - 2010 every year we went it got worse and worse, it was a quiet fishing village when they first moved. I remember each time we went to prostitutes getting closer and closer up the road to the main 'street' and a different English/Irish pub opening. Was sad to see it go that way
