I now live on my own for quite a lot of the time and am finding it difficult to cater for one person after years of cooking for a family. I don't want to eat loads of ready meals but am finding it difficult to shop for small amounts of food. I batch cook and my freezer currently contains single portions of bolognese sauce, beef in cider, meatballs in tomato sauce and rice. I have bought nice sausages and frozen them in pairs. There is also a TGI Friday very rich chocolate cake cut into 10 pieces frozen separately for heating in the microwave and a tub of ice cream to go with it. I have just discovered Tesco does little single servings of fresh veg in a microwavable bag and these are saving a lot of waste.
So, please, what else?

I buy large packs of salmon and smoked haddock at Costco and separate them into portion size to freeze . I also often make a large vegetable or chicken casserole and put extra portions in the fridge for later in the week - which is fine if you don’t mind having the same thing more than once a week .

Meal planning is your friend. Basic spaghetti Bol one night, then freeze some and tart it up the next night with a few spices for chilli. Steam lots of veg for dinner then blend leftovers for soup. Roast leftovers for curry etc etc
