To ask for help with ikea Pax?

I’m probably overthinking this way too much so now I’m in a muddle.

i have a 100cm pax wardrobe frame plus a 75cm frame, both 201cm high. Im trying to buy sliding doors for them, but I can’t figure out exactly what I need! Does the rails come with the doors? And I see options to buy 4 panels for the doors - does that mean that unless it’s a solid door, I need to buy the frame and then the panels?

Any help would be appreciated as I desperately need to order a couple of Kallax units so figured I may as well get the doors as well for same delivery price Smile

If you use the Pax planner on the IKEA website you can design your unit and then add everything you need to your basket 😊

You have to have two 100cm pax to have the sliding doors (I think). I think they only come in 100s and you have to have two so that there is somewhere for them to slide to.

SisterGeorgeMichael · 06/11/2022 20:28

And yes about the panels. You get the frame and then choose the panels that you want so you can have all sorts of different combinations.

So is your wardrobe 175cm in width as the doors come in pairs of 150cm or 200cm so you would need something for the spare 25cm, either a mirror, slim door or left open.
it looks like you buy the frame with rails and then it says you complete your door with panels of your choice, so both

RedRiverShore2 · 06/11/2022 20:35

When you say you have a frame do you mean wardrobe frame or door frame as you can't have sliding doors on anything less than 150cm, (2x75cm) I found his out when I bought a 100cm Pax and had to have normal doors

RedRiverShore2 · 06/11/2022 20:48

You would have to check if it's 175cm that the 75cm sliding door fits on a 100 cm wardrobe with a gap at the end, it may not fit properly.
In my head I would probably have sliding doors then slim mirror door or open shelves on 25cm spare bit but in practice it might not fit properly

Ahh ok, I’m so glad I asked! @RedRiverShore2 i have the wardrobe frames as I wanted to make sure I had the correct formation and position for my room before committing to the doors.

I don’t actually have space for anything wider than 175 so I guess I’ll put my 50cm frame with the 100 and keep the 75cm as open storage.

Many thanks Flowers

@Eastereggs1 I tried using the planner but it wouldn’t work properly on my very old laptop. I haven’t tried with my phone though, so thanks will give that a go.

I've got two hundreds with the sliding doors and then another one as open storage and it looks quite good.

I don't know what you mean by 50cm frame though as I don't think you can get 50cm sliding doors can you?

TooGoodToBeOkay · 06/11/2022 21:09

@YellowDots apologies for not being clear, it’s a 50cm wardrobe frame. My wall isn’t long enough for a straight run of all 3 wardrobes (225cm in total) so I’m trying to figure out my best options :)

I was getting the wardrobe frame mixed up with the sliding frame. 🤯

Yes, I think that is the best option too.
