To be a bit touchy when my DH says you need to watch your cravings

when after 2 months of dieting and losing 25lbs I had a packet of mini cheddars and 9 squares of chocolate cause it was the first day of my period and I felt like shit.

I ate this last night and these were almost his first words to me as I was making my breakfast this morning and he couldn't understand why he got snapped at cause "I'm only trying to help"!!!!!!!

grrr at dh.

fairyfly · 29/01/2008 13:08

No, you should have then stuffed the entire contents of the fridge in your mouth while sticking two fingers up at him and walking off.

Bouncingturtle · 29/01/2008 13:10

Then should should stuff the fridge up his arse.

mummyschmummy · 29/01/2008 13:10

LOL fairyfly if I wasn't continuing to watch what I eat (despite what DH thinks) that is exactly what I would have done, the sticking two fingers up isn't far off my response.

Then you should

My brain hurts...

cupsoftea · 29/01/2008 13:10

ask him to prepare a snack for you

Elasticwoman · 29/01/2008 21:34

Yes I'd be fairly hacked off with that remark and even more so that he can't see what's offensive about it.

How did you manage to stop at 9 squares, btw?
Sounds like herculean effort of willpower to me.

Dropdeadfred · 29/01/2008 21:36

was there only 9 squares there?

Quattrocento · 29/01/2008 21:38

Well it could have been worse.

I have a craving for red wine. And white wine. And Alan Davies.

Jackstini · 29/01/2008 21:41

I put a P on the calendar when I start my period - dh knows damn well not to criticise anything for about 48 hours!

WanderingTrolley · 29/01/2008 21:44

How big was a square?

Inform your dh that men should never tell women anything about eating ever.

soopermum1 · 29/01/2008 21:49

i am going to stick up for Dh in this case. maybe he saw that you were so happy losing the weight that he didn't want you to lose momentum now and moan to him about your weight again. i read somewhee that men are all about offering practical solutions rather than just listening and empathising. although admittedly this particular solution wasn't very helpful.

he should have said, you look gorgoeus, enjoy your mini cheddars and chocolate and let me pour you a glass of wine and hot bath right now.

Elasticwoman · 30/01/2008 19:41

Quattro I am intrigued by your craving for Alan Davies. Is he still together with Julia Sawalha?

Shaniece · 30/01/2008 20:13

I eat more when pre mentstrual. Tell your DH he needs to be a bit more sympathetic.

bubblagirl · 30/01/2008 20:16

do you moan to him alot about your weight?

as i went through this moaned and moaned poor dp didnt have enough kind words to say

then i'd snack on 100 bags of crissps lol and he'd then panic that he'd have to hear it all over again

cheshirekitty · 30/01/2008 21:46

Kill him, then eat him. Serve him right for complaining about your cravings!!!!!!

Sycamoretree · 30/01/2008 22:00

If DH says things like this to me, I eat twice what I was eating just to Pee him off. Though clearly, the only person that's really sticking the V's up to is myself. I sympathise - have lost 32lbs and am still going...today, even the wallpaper looks more appetizing than my bloody lighter life packs....

mumbear · 30/01/2008 22:39

Totally off the point of the thread can I ask what diet ure doing to get those great results mummyschmummy?
Ps tell him to sod off!!

Sycamoretree · 30/01/2008 22:59

I know you didn't ask me, but since I'm so chuffed with my weight loss to date I'm going to jump in anyway and say yay LIGHTER LIFE - have lost 2st 4lbs in 10 week.
