To still take depo injection after accidentally putting it in the fridge?

Picked up my sayana depo injection on Tuesday and accidentally put it in the fridge, temp on the fridge is 4 degrees. Now realised the instructions say not to refrigerate! Do you think it's still safe to use?

I’m a sexual health/contraception nurse and if you were a patient I’d err on the side of caution and say no, discard. Just request a repeat prescription 12 weeks earlier and explain why.

No, I guess you could ask pharmacist but expect they would reiterate instructions. I doubt it would harm you but think risk of of it not working not worth taking

It says do not refrigerate and it has been in the fridge for over 48hrs so why risk it?
If you’re taking contraception in the first place you don’t want a baby so it’s not worth the risk.

As a contraception trained nurse, I have to advise you not to use it.
Checked the SPC and it very specifically says not to refrigerate it.
Order a new one.

Check with your pharmacist. Sometimes "Don't refrigerate" means "You don't have to refrigerate", but sometimes it means "The drug will not be effective if it has been allowed to get too cold". That's a big difference! Definitely don't wing it.

(I'm a GP, but ask your pharmacist, not your GP, as pharmacists are more expert on the storage of drugs).

A pharmacist would (hopefully!) go by the SPC which specifically says not to refrigerate.

Thank you all, you've confirmed my thoughts despite really not wanting the hassle of missing it, I know it's best to not risk it, so I won't take it.
