More household geekery - new fridge freezer

As per my washing hanging thread, it seems I've been doing it all wrong 😂🙈 so thought I'd call upon some MN wisdom with my new fridge freezer. Other than some obvious items (veg in veg drawers) we've been a bit of a 'chuck it all in' type of family (terrible I know). But browsing through my Dairy Book (showing my age!) I stumbled across a page that appealed to my geeky side. Given that the Dairy Book is old (but still great) is this philosophy still relevant? If not how should we be doing it instead?

Naturally I'm happy to hang my head in shame for previously throwing it all in random style but am prepared to change my ways.

I can't read your picture, but do know that that coldest part is at the bottom. You should not put raw meat next to, or above, anything else in case of drips, but as the veg drawer is enclosed it is protected.

Most veg drawers have a gap at the top so meat juice would still leak in if there was a leak.

I’ve heard you shouldn’t really keep milk in the fridge door but I do anyway.

I’m all about The Home Edit’s approach to organizing fridges.

I've known the rule about putting raw meat on the bottom shelves since schooldays, and adhere to this.

I never refrigerate eggs, though - what's that all about?

That looks awesome, thank you!

Same, I think that's an American thing. We never put eggs in the fridge so will be throwing the egg rack in the bin!
