Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in less than a week - petrified

Hello,
Firstly I apologise this is like my third thread on the above subject in a month!

My laparoscopy and hysteroscopy is happening in less than a week. I'm petrified.

I did get a fair amount of comfort from my previous thread but as it gets closer and close to the date I'm struggling to function day to day as I'm just so so scared.

Firstly I'm scared of being or feeling sick after it. I will be requesting the strongest anti sickness pills they have but obviously that's no complete guarantee.

Secondly I'm scared of what they're going to find. I'm so worried that this time next week I'll know how my fertility really is. I've had the year from hell since finding out about my endometriosis and 'possible hydrosalpinx in one tube'. I've had months and months of crying and just complete terror to finding out my fate fertility wise. I'm not sure I even want to know at this stage as I just don't know how I'll possibly cope if it's bad news. I'm so scared my entire reproductive system is going to be f*cked and I'll have no options.

Please can someone reassure me (again - I'm so sorry I just need constant reassurance from people online who know exactly how I'm feeling!). My friends and family aren't really helping as they don't get it so I have no one in real life to talk to.

Thank you if anyones read my rambles again x

@nonstoprenovation

Thank you - I'm on the two day countdown now! 😬

As far as I know mine is in my pouch of Douglas which is definitely being removed. Unsure where else it is yet ☹️

I've not even asked about when I can drive again I completely forgot!

I'm so pleased to hear you haven't had any flare ups since!! That's really comforting.

I will admit, I have been very sloppy with ttc - it's been so stressful and at the back of my mind the whole time has been the doctor saying that it's likely to be ectopic :(

I keep rereading my threads on here and will continue to right before my surgery!! I will update this thread too so anyone else in the same position can read if needed to. Xx

Hippopotato you are letting your anxiety run away with you. You will be able to drive straight away physically - they won't let you drive yourself home because of the anaesthetic but I don't know anyone who has had this procedure who hasn't been up and about very quickly afterwards. There is some pain but it is minimal and manageable with pain relief. Read back through this thread and the other thread that you have going and try to take in all the positive experiences people have shared.

How are you feeling? Hope everything went well

Sorry but that's awful advice and based on somone having ablation surgery, the OP is having excision which is more invasive and advice is 2-3 weeks before driving.

October2020 · 04/11/2022 22:42

@nonstoprenovation that's funny, because I had excision last week (as well as other things in the same procedure) and was told I could drive as soon as the anaesthetic had worn off. The only longer term advice past 24hrs was about swimming because of infection risk.

Northtosouth · 05/11/2022 13:55

@hippopotato how did it go OP?
wishing you a speedy recovery.

Wasn't sick 😀
Results were better than I expected 😀

Thank you for everyone for not allowing me to talk myself out of the op!

Btw I've been told 6 weeks before I can drive!!! 🤕🤕

@Northtosouth

Thank you so so much. I did have a chocolate cyst too but trying not to Google the implications that could have on my fertility. The cyst has been removed but my brains already questioning arghh lol. Xxx

@hippopotato I had a few chocolate cysts and multiple fibroids but went on to have two healthy happy babies, so don't worry too much. If anything they were more of an inconvenience messing up my underwear than anything. x

@DWMoosmum

Aww thank you so much for reassuring me! Xx
