Bathroom with no window - help!

We've bought an old bungalow and are halfway through renovations. The downside is that the bathroom is in the middle of the house and only has a window randomly into the utility room.
We are considering removing the window and DH thinks just go for an extractor fan but won't it be dark, damp and dingy and the extractor fan noisy?? But then the existing window is useless as only opens to the utility. Anyone have a bathroom with no windows and how do you find it?

I have an en suite with no window. As well as a normal ceiling light extractor fan I have www.electrical2go.co.uk/monsoon-energysaver-intellisense-ultra-quiet-intelligent-bathroom-fan-with-auto-humidity-control.html

It stays on all the time providing continuous ventilation, is very quiet and cheap to run and clears the steam quickly. It works better if I keep the bathroom door closed (otherwise it would be ventilating the whole house!).

I have spot lighting and a massive mirror, it’s a lovely bright room.

My bathroom also doesn't have a window. I was really worried it would go mouldy, and the extractor fan sounded like a small aeroplane trying to take off.

We took the extractor fan out (totally full of gravel from the flat roof) and fitted a vent as a temporary measure until we could face sorting the electrics for the fan.

5 years later I just leave the vent open and the bathroom still hasn't gone mouldy and I still don't have an extractor fan.

Both our bathrooms have no window just an extractor fan and it's fine. There are separate switches so if you just go for a wee in the night you don't need to turn the extractor on.

We don't have a window in the bathroom, same as OP, it's in the middle of a bungalow. We have no problems with it. It is fully tiled which may help with damp, and we have an en-suite that we use, the children use the bathroom mostly.

My bathroom does have a window, but it’s not practical to open it. Use the extractor and we have no problem with mould.

Typical for those in condos/apartments. Good vanity lighting is essential and don't skimp on a good de-humidifier/fan.

If there's nothing above it you could open up a section of ceiling into the loft and put a velux in. I've done this twice and I love the daylight and extra ceiling height. Obviously it sort of depends on the roof but your builder should be able to say if it's possible.

Our old house didn’t have a window in the bathroom- we had a huge mirror made to fit the width of the back wall which made more difference than I thought it would. Otherwise one of those tunnels

My bathroom has two windows , figured out it's because the toilet and bathroom used to be separate
